Winter

It's been a relatively warm winter for us in the Northern Mountains of Japan, until about a week ago....

Spent most of the morning shoveling waist deep snow away from the front of the house and car.

My sister spent several years living in the mountains of Japan. She would send pictures of 10' snow drifts that made me ill to look at, and I was living in Chicago at the time.

I love the cold and snow. CT surprisingly gets sub-tropical heat and humidity in the warmer months, which sucks. Wish I could live in northern Canada or Sweden or something year round. Hard to get pizza delivery up there though I imagine.

Since moving to Seattle, I have become a complete climate wimp. It's good to be able to be a climate wimp.

When it snows here, all bets are off, though. People think all wheel drive can solve icy hills. There's always a doofus in a big 4x4 who slides down a hill and takes out row after row of parked cars. Then the next doofus does the same thing. We do it all for your entertainment on YouTube. Most of those dumb driver sliding down steep hill in snow videos come from around here. We have steep hills, only occasional snow, and really awful drivers. It's a winning combination.

Thanks for the entertainment Seattle, I love those videos

I would consider today a perfect morning in my part of the world. Temps in the mid 20's with the bluest skies you'll ever see and the sun blazing. Not a cloud anywhere.
Yes, it's cold, but the warm sunlight sets it off just right.
