Wireing diagram help? Questions...

So I have a project going on here - http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=609822

And I have drawn out how I think everything will be wired (It's a P bass and I'm adding a killswitch, and a toggle switch for tone control). I DID NOT draw this whole thing, I got it from a nother site and added what i would be doing to it...

My main question is; will this work? or is somthing wrong? If it's wrong, can you help me?

Also, on the diagram I labled 2 caps as 1 and 2, one will be for the toggle switch up and for it down (bypass is center...). I don't know which caps I should use? Can someone help me decide?

And how nessesary is the bridge ground?
 
I'm very confused by your toggle switch?
Is that supposed to be a DPDT mini toggle or what?

If you are selecting between two capacitor values, you should be skipping the 0.047uF capacitor that is going from the second terminal of the tone pot to ground, and instead just wire the second terminal straight to ground.

The bypass setting for the tone control should not connect to the tone pot at all. Bypass would be removing the pot and capacitors from the circuit.

The bridge ground is usually almost always necessary, unless you like a lot of noise even when you are touching the strings.
 
Caps 1 and 2 are in series with the output signal - this is definitely not a low pass tone control. And the bypass doesn't bypass the tone control - it just keeps the 0.047 uF cap in the circuit, giving you the typical P-bass setup.

Out of curiosity, why a momentary kill switch?

The 3way toggle switch was drawn horably because I suck at paint... I was going to use somthing like this(The one labled 'EP-4366-023' twards the bottom left of the page)- Link Removed

When I say bypass I mean just bypass thetoggle switch, I want all sounds to go through the switch and then to the tone knob to help me shape the tone.

Why wouldn't you use the three way switch to just switch in different values for the .047 uf cap?

I don't really understand what your saying. I think your saying wire the toggle switch after the tone pot where the .047u cap is? I'm not sure why I would, isn't it just the same?

For effects and stuff, It's a really easy thing to add so I figured why not.

EDIT:And If I just wired caps 1 and 2 to the volume pot like the .o47u is would that work? (I know I wont have thetone pot to help control it, but I don't really think It will do anything anyway)
 
In theory your circuit will work, but i would swap the green wire on the tone switch middle position with the 0.047 uf capacitor, and make [1] = 0.1 uf and [2] = 0.02 uf.
That will give you 3 different tone variations, but just having one capacitor and no toggle switch would get the same results anyway.

The kill switch is a good idea for instant mute, what i use is an angled jack plug which has a kill switch in the plug, so i can unplug from the bass without any noise.

You could experiment a little too, with the circuit you have there, disconnect the toggle switch middle wire, which will give you a tone bypass, make [1] the wire link, and for [2] try using and inductor (experiment with different types), to give you a band notch filter. (mid cut).:hyper:

Here's what I'm talking about. I think it's equivalent to what you're doing but I think it's a little simpler to understand.

So this isn't really gonna help my bass tone?... And how does a mid cut help with my tone? How would that sound?
