Wireless Guitar Systems?

I went through a wireless phase a number of years ago. You definitely need to buy a quality unit. I don't need it any longer and know a cable is more likely to function than a wireless unit, no matter how good. I'm sure lots of folks have no problems with them. My cell phone is wireless. That's good enough for me. :)

It surprised me to hear from multiple sources that Line 6 really has wireless instruments nailed.
Zero personal experience with their products in this category.
Technically they didn't. They bought the X2 company, then tweaked their designs to use frequencies that were legal in most countries, as opposed to X2's which only operated legally in America. But they are great wirelesses.

I'm happy with my Line 6 G50, picked it up a few months ago right here on TB.
Great deal, too!

No dropouts, easy to use, visible battery bars, durable. Our lead guitarist got the G30 brand new about a month ago and he loves it. That one uses a standard 1/4 inch cable, which is very cool IMO.

We both strutted into the crowd at last weekend's charity gig and they loved it!

I would avoid some of the cheaper units and go for quality. Be wary of older devices with non-legal FCC frequency ranges, selling used. Some sellers either don't know or won't tell you their radio freq's aren't currently usable in the USA.

Line 6 G50 all the way. I've had great luck with this unit. Excellent sound quality and very easy to setup and use. My only complaint is the cables that come with this unit are terrible. Make sure to pick up some hi end replacements and you'll be good to go. I got mine from Link Removed.
