Wireless Guitar Systems?

Had a few, worked Ok, but battery eaters. Nothing worse than going mute half way through the set. I settled on a Lifetime warranty "Gold" coated jack end cables. On stage you just let everyone know that you have boundaries, redneck style. And Musicians like collecting cables, so I label all mine. My guitar main cable gets Zap strapped to the guitar strap. Fold the strap around the cable like a hot dog in a bun, then 2 zap straps, works great. Wireless is Ok on some equipment like remote starting the Ford Truck. Thats as far as I go. On a musical workout I use tried and true hard wired no headache analog. Bass Whaler

My question is for those that bought a pouch. I see GC carries two pouch sizes...which one fits the G50 best? Seems like it would be the larger one, bit the width dimension seems narrow.

I use the small size with both G30 and G50 packs. The medium size is a bit longer, and it works well with my guitarist's Shure IEM pack.

I have a cheap X2.

Works well but the provided cable (1/8" to 1/4") sucks and the base unit and transmitter are plastic. Not very rugged but it has worked for a few years as I take care of it.

Just picked up an X2 system yesterday, after my G30 up and quit on me. I didn't know these were made in the US! And they can be had super cheap. I believe these turned into the G30 and G50 etc once L6 bought X2, except the X2 is on 900mHz frequency instead of 2.4gHz.

These are pretty much required for us at the places we play, if you want to sing and play at the same time. Without a wireless we get shocked pretty bad, so we use them for safety.

I picked up an older X2, and after replacing the horrible stock bodypack cable, it's been solid as a rock. It eats batteries pretty quick, but it's worth it for me.

After an EPIC fail -- on stage, mid-song, total quit -- I returned my Line 6 and bought a serious unit from Sennheiser.

Would NOT recommend Line 6. Ever.

I could see how that would leave a bad taste in your mouth - all I can say is, I've done somewhere around 400 gigs with Line6 wireless units, and they've literally been 100% reliable...

In fact, I've been waiting for my old X2/Line6 stuff to start breaking down, to replace it with something newer - but both receivers and all 3 transmitters are still working like a champ... I've been using HiTech rechargeable Li-Ion 9v batteries, and they're still working great, also - it's literally costing me nothing to continue to use something that's been 100% reliable... To be honest, I don't see any compelling reason to change anything at the moment...

I have a Shure PGX4 system that has never failed me. The 2 best things about it is if I ever find interference I can just scan for a clear channel and I'm good. Also a set of batteries will usually last me 3 gigs. I would like to pick up a second PGX1 transmitter so I can switch basses in seconds in case I break a string or something.

I've been using HiTech Li-Ion rechargeable 9v from batterymart.com for quite awhile, now - I would highly recommend that approach...

I play in a lot of places that have Wi-fi hotspots and have never had an issue.

every bloody time i fire up my g50 body pack in the studio it kicks the laptop off line , soon as i power it down , no problems. Guitar player buddy of mine has the exact problem as well at his jam spot, its more a very minor annoyance than a problem , but no biggie , doesn't seem to affect my data from my iphone.
