I get about 6 hours on a set of alkaline AA's with my Line 6 G30. Really pleased with that unit. Because the frequency range it transmits is wider than what my gear will reproduce, I get a nice high end sparkle with it that isn't there with a cord.
No. I use 5 strings exclusively and never noticed a difference plugged in or using G30/G90. (Or X2 for that matter)another question here: anyone noticed a tone loss in low frequencies with 5 string basses using line6-G-units or Shure?

Does your Shure unit use standard 1/4" plugs?
