Wiring a blend pot to Noll TCM2 - Confusing diagram

So...
I'm upgrading a Carvin B50 with a Noll TCM2 (2 band pre) and using Alpha pots.
The Noll website has this diagram:

I just don't quite understand the way "Balance" control is shown. The Alpha blend (or balance) looks like this:

So, which lug (lugs) should that pale grey wire be connected to? Any thoughts?

Yeah, I've seen that at StewMac website before, which is confusing in its own way - is the criss-cross wiring connects "1" to "6" and "3" to "4" or all of the four contacts interconnected?

1 and 6 do not connect to 3 and 4.

To understand blend pot wiring, it helps to remember that a blend pot is simply two volume pots on the same shaft. One of them must be backwards, however, and hence, there is a criss-cross connection of wires.
