wiring diagram for jazz series-parallel w/ v/p/t configuration

I'm looking for a wiring diagram of a jazz bass that has a volume/pan/tone configuration and a push-pull volume pot that does series/parallel.

I know there are various diagrams of series/parallel mods and v/p/t jazz configurations. I have yet to find one that is exactly as mentioned above though.

Any help is appreciated.

I drew this schematic for a guy a few weeks ago...

If you want Series/Parallel with a blend pot, you need to set the blend pot to full neck pickup when your in series mode.

If you are willing to use a 3PDT mini toggle instead of a push pull, you can bypass the blend pot in series mode.

Here are both schematics, just in case.

That's a tremendous help.

Are you saying that with this configuration, in series the blend pot will be obsolete? And if I use a switch then both pickups will be on full in series rather than just the neck pickup?

Also, I suppose I should make sure: parallel is the standard wiring for jazzes, right?

Yes, Parallel is the standard wiring for Jazz Basses.

In laymans terms:

When you switch to series mode, you are rewiring the bridge pickups hot from the blend pot, into the neck pickups ground.
(And you are removing the neck pickups "ground" from the instruments ground.)

That means that when you are in series, there is nothing connected on the bridge pickups side of the blend pot, so it just functions as a volume control.
In order for it to work properly, you would want the blend pot set 100% to the side that still has input, otherwise you are simply attenuating its output.

If you have an additional pole on your switch, you can rewire the neck pickups hot directly to the (volume and tone circuit) and bypass the blend pot.

What do "pole and throw" refer to when talking about switches and such?

A "pole" is a connection that can be "thrown" to one (ST) or two (DT) other connections.

Generally it is the middle connection on a switch, that when the switch is toggled connects to one or the other connections.

I think slyjoe pretty much nailed it on the pole and throw.

Those switches are DPDT, so no, they wont work...
You need to get a 3PDT, or triple-pole, double-throw switch.

At this time, i am not aware of any online dealers that sell them.

I bought the same item that you need from a local electronics store a few months ago. The name of the brand that makes the switch was "Philmore" if thats of any help to you.

Here is a link to another of Line6man's wiring diagrams, but this one features the use of an M/N taper blend pot, so that in series, the 2nd volume knob just gets bypassed. Hi,
starting from the wiring diagram of line6man, I tried to do my own wiring diagram including a double tone (one for each jazz pickup) with volume and Blend.
Could you tell me if I'm right or not.
