wiring diagram question

Hi,

(newbie alert)

The existing setup on my bass is active and has four knobs on it. I intend to replace it with a passive setup and make use of the existing holes for a neck volume, bridge volume, master tone and master volume config (I would like to be able to mute it with one knob only). I am new to this stuff, so, is this a bad idea technically?

Also, I haven't been able to find a diagram for it. Does that seem right to you:

Wire the tip terminal of the jack to the wiper terminal of the master volume.

Thanks a lot line6man :)

(When are those line6 guys gonna come up with a pocket pod for bass anyway? I would really like that. Would use it with a wireless system so that all my rig fits in a guitar case, bass included. Have been a fan since the XT series)

So, to recap with the current knob positioning on my bass, is this okay:

Also do you see any problems in theory with this design? Hiss related problems, sound related problems... I have done some research in the forum and in google before posting, I've read that especially with a passive setup, blend-volume config is not an ideal solution. So I tried to come up with this instead, but as I know nothing about electronics, I don't know if I've done something even worse or what :)

Is it a good setup or should I ditch the tone knob, the master volume knob or both for the sake of a cleaner and better sound?
