I'll be getting knee surgery in the morning to fix a torn ACL, torn meniscus, and a shattered knee cap that I've been running around with since October.

I ended up putting my pooch down on Monday morning, so I'll be home alone doing leatherwork until further notice. If any TBers want to send me call girls or alcohol until I get on my feet, it'll be greatly appreciated.

Good luck. I had my ACL repaired and a bunch of clean up done from past injuries 3 years ago so I know what you will be going through...My advice is to completely finish Physical Therapy. It will suck but finish it out. It was the best desicion I made. My brother wimped out and quit half way through. He is paying the price now.

Sorry about you pooch. I love dogs and have had to do that a couple times as well. It's a bummer to lose a friend like that.

I can't help you with the call girls.

+1 on the physical therapy. Good luck, heal fast. Sorry about the dog. :( I'd send you alcohol but I'm 17. Call girls, the same excuse.

good luck and don't slack on the rehab.
your recovery success is entirely dependant on how much effort you put in

i hear this alot from my wife , who is a physical terrorist , i mean therapist ... :ninja: :D.
finish the therapy , and don't a wussy about the pain .

... seriously , here's wishing you a speedy recovery !
:hyper:

Um, you look pretty young. Will I get arrested for sending you alcohol? You trying to get us in trouble?

As for the girls ... there must be plenty of universities in NY with pre-med, sports medicine, or nursing programs. I'm sure you could lure a pretty girl or two over who wouldn't mind using you as a study aid. ;)

Go ahead and skip the booze. Concentrate on getting mobile again.

No BS, the loss of your good puppy dog and post-op blues are what you will be dealing with. Just keep as positive as you can and keep putting one foot in front of the other.

Holla if you need anything from us.......

Well here's the update.

I'm on a bunch of percocet which really isn't doing much for me. Haven't been eating much but drinking a lot of fluids. I figured I was goign to be alone most of the time so I stocked up on gatorade and ginger ale and left it by my bed. Forgot to do that with food though.
Since I haven't been able to get up, its been going back into the gatorade bottles when I'm done with it.

I woke up this morning and started doing my physical therapy; ankle pumps, quad sets, etc. I tried doing the leg raises but I can't do them and I ended up blacking out from the pain. Even the simple things leave me exhausted.

I have a flexion machine or whatever its called. I take my brace off and put my leg into it and it bends it back and forth. Doctor told me to do 20 degrees to start and see if I could do 30 which would be ideal. Managed to do 34 degrees for 3 hours before it hurt too much.

MajorMetal is hooking me up with a wheelchair so I can keep playing shows. Thanks Kev, you're awesome. I'm also going to look into getting another set of crutches. The ones I have are for someone whose 5'10 and I'm 6' 6'1.

On the brightside I guilted a bunch of pretty girls into bringing me dinner throughout the week and taking naps with me. You know, since its so hard to sleep by myself. ;)

I'm 21 and I'm already trying to work the pity card.:p
