I recently 'did' a Fantasy and it gave me great enjoyment and real satisfaction at the end when I was finished!

Say, you mentioned using an oil on your Fantasy. What kind was that? I'm kind of thinking about doing one of mine in something a bit less shiny than Tung oil. Thanks ...

A product called Tru-Oil. It comes it two parts, depending on your grain start with the sealer and then use the oil itself. I bought mine at lmii.com

BTW I didn't bid on the 9-string. I actually forgot about it, which just goes to show it was not meant for me!:D

Here's a better view of the ball-peened brass alloy cover plate I made. It was pretty quick to make since I have the metal already. Perhaps not as nice as the wood veneer ones; but interesting nonetheless. This is a dual control unit and knobs are temporary, so don't give me demerits for 'em. My rather petite Brazilian bridge is present as well. Now for some strings?

Congrats 49sfine I've just noticed you made the 1000th post on the Wishbass Club thread!

In checking the stats (as they sit today and not counting any multiple threads on the same subject) the Wishbass Club thread is in the top 10 threads in terms of number of views - over 54,000!

Bizarrely the Hollowbody Club is #1 with over 75,000!

Wow, that's cool. Who would have thought? - and I'm just a drummer really! Where do you go to see that info?

I think that is inherent to the nature of Wishbasses, they will only ever appeal to the minority. It's a blessing really, if everyone wanted one, they would be 2-3 times the price, or more.

well mine is done, and Wish sent pics:

But I did want the horn to look like this one:

I've asked why he did it that way instead of the way I asked (probably didn't refer to my original order). It's not a big deal if he can't fix it, but since I haven't paid for the 2nd half of it, no worries.

Once I get it, I'll take off all the hardware, pickup - then go at it with a rasp, dremel, sander and sandpaper. I'm going to alter the shape a little - armrest?, angled headstock?, and if he can't fix the horn, I'll do something to that. I think I may outfit it with a varitone down the road.

Damn gubna, if he can't do anything about the horn and needs to build something anew, let me know, I want first right of refusal for that thing, it's a beaut!

Is it just me or was he maybe looking at a part of his body when he shaped that one? And before we get too phallic here I was meaning his thumb!
