I have owned two CXL112's (non lights) for two years, and love the sound. But I was just wondering how the Wizzy's compared to the CXL112's, and if the CXL112's are transmission line design cabs?

Oops. I coulda sworn that the Whizzy was not a transmission line cab. I also thought that they were spelled with an "h". I do make a few mistakes every now and then, usually around three a year. Already made one a few months ago, so I figure that I still have one coming.

To the best of my knowledge, all EA cabs employ transmission lines. The NM-410 introduced an "M-shaped" transmission line, and John Dong has designed an "M-line" Wizzy (of which they plan to sell only a limited number, and only through certain dealers).
The "regular" Wizzy is more full/warm sounding than the CxL-112, and has somewhat of a midrange push. The overall effect is a somewhat vintage tone, but with good articulation, that sounds "okay" on its own, but just rules in a mix (without overwhelming). The CxL-112, by comparision, actually goes deeper (though again, is not as full in the low mids), goes much higher, and has an extreme level of clarity. Not vintage sounding at all, and probably not ruler-flat through the mids (I hear some peaks/valleys), but on the whole, it is a super clear, very powerful, very "polished" sounding cab. The M-line Wizzy sounds somewhere in between these two, though closer to the Wizzy, of course. It's basically a bigger, deeper sounding Wizzy, with a tad less presence in the upper mids.

I agree with Tom's comparison. The wizzy really cuts well live. I was always fighting with the CXL-112. But I wanted a vintage sound, so YMMV.

thanks Tom!! those Mline Wizzy's sure do look yummy....but I think I'm going to keep my CXL112's. I just wished EA made a 1x15 as I love EA's designs and 15" speakers
I forgot to mention that a wizzy and a CXL-112 sound surprisingly good togeather. Since the wizzy is 4 ohms and the CXL-112 is 8, the wizzy does dominate slightly, but not as much as you would think. And the CXL-112 adds bottom and high end.
That said, I still prefer two wizzys. And BassGreaser, if you love the sound of the CXL-112 you will probably not like the wizzy as much.
That M-line sure looks cool. And I love the new handles on the wizzys. I never did like the old handles. I also like the stacking corners.
