Wow, that does look fun to play! I wonder how the drone strings should be tuned.

 

I can think of a lot of possibilities for that. Looks wicked interesting, and the price is do-able. Which makes it frightening.

 

Let me be the first to say... I don't get it. To those of you who do get it, happy bidding.

Looks well made. Main thing it strikes me as is a kewl wall hanging as a scifi alien world stringed instrument. Lol. Well the upper and lower sets are like a bass harp. With frettable more like reg bass middle. I'd lose the top part if I was getting one. And just keep the lower bass harp and middle fretted bass guitar part. Not going to bid on one but. is entertaining looking thing that looks well made with solid wood body etc.

 

If my money wasn't being saved up for an amp, I would totally be buying that.

That looks like a scam. I've seen the same item description copy pasted in other auctions, auctions that also seem suspicious... I'd stay away...

This looks like a lift of the electric harp guitar design.

 

that's exactly what I was coming in to write.

 

the "Hubei, China" bit is really too bad.

The instrument itself looks like a weird electric theorbo.

 

I'm sure playing would be manageable. I'd probably lay my forearm over the upper strings until I need them. If I did require them, I guess play with my arm not touching the drone strings.

 

The bigger question is how you play the drone strings and then play over them. There has to be a good 10" of space in between the droned sets. Do you play it on your lap like a lap-steel guitar?

Meant to be played upright? It would be impossible to do a 4 hr set with that strapped to you...
