Work schedule dilemma

Looks like I'm getting off third shift. Hooray for me. I get a pick of two equally craptastic day shift schedules. Do I take the schedule with better hours, or the one with better days off?

It depends what you have going on outside of your work life and you're the only one who knows that.

Depends on what they are. I really liked second shift, it's great for my health, but I'd basically do any job within my power to live like a normal human with Saturday and Sunday off.

I don't get weekends off. I can have 6-2:30 with Monday and Tuesday off, or 7-3:30 with Thursday and Friday off.

Friday is the best day off, but going in at 6 will put me away from some of the gossip and drama.

All in all I'm pretty excited to get off third shift. Really looking forward to doing stuff at night like sleeping, playing in bands, and going on dates with girls.

i'd take thursday and friday off. my husband works 7 to 3:30 - it's not awesome but we live with it.

It's a good job, I'm lucky to have it. Although the politics that go on at a government job are like nothing I've ever seen.

Th/Fri can at least gig and have fun with others more. Comedy. Music. Parties. Events. Etc. Take that man. Live it up when you aren't punching clock. You'll be net happier I would hope. Good luck regardless!

how seriously are you looking to be gigging and have you given any thought to how 6am starts will go with nocturnal hobbies? On the plus side to the early hours, you only have to survive Sunday to get a catch up sleep in.

As a motorcyclist with no social life I'd take Monday and Tuesday off in a heartbeat. Got two days to yourself. Thursday and Friday off you run into a lot of people making a three-day weekend by bailing early on their typical week.

It looks like you would only be trimming down the drama by an hour a day? I would just take the better days off and deal with the full drama.
