I'll wait to see if I really want/need a bandsaw.

I also will wait to see if I need to duct the SM5000 to the outside world
If I do, I have relatives that I'll pay in beer to get it ducted

Although I haven't shown the design center, it will be the last thing I set up. But I do have the computer, software and all.

Hopefully I'll be back to building in a couple weeks

OK,

I was trying to set up my workshop in the most cost effective way
I was targeting $1000
In the past I had spent $871.

After many additions, here's the tally on where I'm at now
Bandsaw.........................................................$366
5 micron filter bag for my downdraft table...$36
Ducting to attach filter bag............................$9
Porter cable 12.5" planner.............................$249
Old 4 inch Jointer/Planner...........................$25
Dust Deputy...................................................$99
Shop Vac hose and attachments...................$91
Yoga mat........................................................$13

Grand Total - $1759.
I'm thinking the only thing I need now is to make a hood that goes over my downdraft table so that I can spray water based substances, so would need a HPLV setup. Thanks to Talkbass, I know what I'll be getting.

Cheers

@Scoops --- just found this post/thread. How's your Craftsman 14" BS working out for you after 15 or so months? Is it a Craftsman BAS350? I thought about getting that one. There's one for sale (customer returned) at Sears Outlet ~ $290. But I would need to drive over 2 hrs to pick it up. Plus the size, weight, and amp load, I passed on it. Not to mention, the assembly part.

So then, I found and picked up an older Craftsman 12" ~ 40 min away from my home via CL.
ES-335 bass build (post #84). Certainly not as capable as the BAS350, but a good starter BS for me.

Yes, the BAS350 is the one I have. Luv it! Changing out blades is a bit of a pain though

$290 is a great price for that saw. I did find that this saw is actually a rebranded Rikon 10-321.
