Thanks everyone. She's doing better, but not out of the woods. She had serious infection in her abdomen and is now very weak. Road of recovery here after surgery.

I did get a little play time in with earphones at home today. Here's my current board. The Xtomp becomes whatever I need it to be given the set on a given Sunday. Drive to boast to envelope... And I love the Shiftline. Amazing tubey preamp.

I'm very interested in the Olympic preamp. I'm torn between this and the REDDI.

I wish the Avalon U5 could be put into a smaller unit. It's so bulky unless you have a rack. It's probably my favorite "DI" but I hate hauling it around. I have this now and it's so easy and small. Almost all my playing is DI/IEM/Silent stage. I sometimes lustafter another U5 but I've had a couple and my wife gets pissed when I go for something a 3rd time.

How do you like to use the synth voice? i know the synth octave is the same register as the clean. is the sub an octave down or is it more like sub harmonic fattening??

Also, is anyone using any tremolo for synth-like pulses?

It is an amazing pedal. It has changed the way I hear myself - and my FOH sound as well - in my IEM's. The only thing I've changed in the last few years where everyone actually noticed a difference and liked it. I can bring a different bass and people don't notice. The OCSD in the chain and bam.

It's a bad sign that I have spent enough time on these forums to be able to answer that question for him because I know what he's going to say.

No. The thing is there's no way to control the level of the incoming source on the OCSD. You can control the overall volume of the headphone level, but not the Aux In level - other than on the Aux In source itself like your phone for example. I suppose that once you and the sound person had your Aux Send level set at the board you'd be fine? Maybe?

Having the Rolls on my Pedaltrain Nano isn't a deal breaker. It weights nothing and is a very versatile little box for $40. I still have a KILLER DI/IEM rig that is small and light and takes me just a couple minutes go from load in to ready to play.

I suppose you could have just the OCSD if you had the correct cabling made and used a clip on tuner...I just hate the way it looks when you have that tuner clipped on your bass all night long.

Fattening...like listening to a subwoofer, when solo'd, or isolated... It's a pretty unique sounding pedal, but I really like what it provides!

On my main players, about 2 years, until they sound a little dull. On the others 5, or more years. Again, until they lose the sound I want from them.

How do you incorporate it into a worship setting? I use an octave pedal for some big moments, but the synth voice caught my attention. I think the demos Ive seen are really cool, but its hard to tell how it would sit in the mix and function compared to a normal octave pedal. Since its in the standard bass register do you really need to worry about tracking?

Love my EHX Pulsar trem. I use it for a variety of uses. Mostly for ambient/tonal variation - say on a bridge go to whole notes with the trem for a washy feel and then Keep it on through the build turn it off when going back to the big chorus. Or as a background wash tone on more spacey sounds like My Soul Longs For You or More Love, More Power. Think Chris Squire's tone on Starship Trooper.

More recently I've also been adding it to an OD/Wah combination to get another variation on a synthy type bass tone. Again, just for songs like the EDM influenced ones by Planetshakers, Hillsong Y&F and the like.
