No. I have never liked that "clank" either. Get a OCSD and have a more useful and tweakable cab sim and a nice DI and a nice practice pedal.

If you are ampless/DI/IEM you absolutely should try the OCSD. I won't say it's a must have but it's as close to a must have as I have ever heard. I had a fantastic DI (JDI) for a while but I wanted more "life" in my IEM's especially. This is the only pedal/effect where the entire band and sound guy noticed that I used/changed my sound. It's that good.

I'm a huge OCSD fanboy! Not only the best cab sim I've tried, I agree that it really gives you that 'playing through an amp' vibe over in-ears. It also killed it live through my amp at my last rock gig. I'm also in the waiting stage - for my second OCSD. One for each pedalboard :bassist::bassist:

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind having one. The OCSD is an incredible product and a great tool. That said I don't know that it would increase the versatility of tones enough to justify the purchase. But for now the IR loader on my Alpha Omega Ultra is really making me happy using an IR of a Mesa Powerhouse 1000. It sounds amazing.

Hi guys, here is my pedalboard with the 2 basses I use. I have just released my debut album and I think you're going to find it very interesting as it's a rock music without guitars. Instead there is bass, drums, keyboards and saxophone. As the record is heavily based on bass, I've used a lot of pedal effects making this record a pretty unique listening experience. Check out my first single where you'll find all the links :)

In this song I've used mainly Cali76 CB compressor with B7K overdrive and in the chorus I added a chorus from Strymon's Mobius with a subtle analog delay from H9 :)

I just finished my first board build and I'm testing it out this Sunday. It's a nano+ using the Truetone CS6 Pro for power. I run a Taurus Tux Mk 2 Compressor (loving the full punchy sound it provides), DOD Carcosa Fuzz (I keep it dialed in pretty low but there's a surprising range with this pedal), and a Zoom MS60b. We're currently using a SansAmp Bass Driver v1 for DI but I'm planning to upgrade that at some point.

My daughter loves when I play leeland and united. I try to play along to videos with lyrics. she's 8 so she's got this sort of naive haze, but she receives so much just being immersed in praise, its great fellowship for us both and I think the sound of a bass is special to her (having been around it for so long) and me (being a quiet fella).

I just lost my dad, and the things he has shown me since his passing have been earth shattering. Our children are so special and how we keep them so meaningful.

I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Thanks everyone. She's doing better, but not out of the woods. She had serious infection in her abdomen and is now very weak. Road of recovery here after surgery.

I did get a little play time in with earphones at home today. Here's my current board. The Xtomp becomes whatever I need it to be given the set on a given Sunday. Drive to boast to envelope... And I love the Shiftline. Amazing tubey preamp.

I was blessed enough this weekend to play the Celebrate Recovery service on Friday night as well as the contemporary service on Sunday morning. Busy weekend. Loved it. My new Novo 18 board is modest, for now, only having a wireless receiver, tuner, Duncan Studio Bass and my new Alpha Omega Ultra, but man does it sound good. I'm loving this rig and can't wait to finish the build out.

Mmmmmmmmmm. 5-String P-bass. After playing a jazz for the last 5-6 years, I fell back in love with my P5 recently. It's such a beautiful thing, especially in a worship setting.

Yep. I love mine. Made due with a Yamaha BB415 for 10+ years, which was pretty great in its own right, but it still wasn't the P5. that I demo'd. Since being able to justify the cost and subsequently buying the P5, I have had very little desire to play or buy anything else. It works GREAT in a worship setting. Still surprises me sometimes how huge it sounds.

Agreed. I am playing P5's regularly in our worship setting. Both an American Standard P5 and a Vintage Modified P5. Love them!
