I have found that while a tidy board (which I've never actually possessed) pleases the OCD in me, I actually need a good few inches between pedals so I can hit just one at a time with my size 15 clodhoppers. Or there are times I actually put pedals close together if I purposely WANT to be able to activate them simultaneously. But not usually.

Does the Hush kill single coil jazz bass pickup buzz? I looked it up on their site and it says that the Hush kills hiss, but if you are experiencing 60 cycle hum, you need their Buzz Kill AC Hum Exterminator. I'm not sure which to try. I love my jazz bass, but I prefer to play with the bridge pickup rolled a bit off, which usually causes hum. But I love the pickups and the tone, so I don't want to switch to hum-canceling pickups.

I do not have any single coils to try it with at home, but there is one I can try it with Sunday at church. I will let you know what I find!

I was actually able to get to the church this morning with the Micro Hush and try it out with the jazz bass. While the hush does not "eliminate" the hum, it does greatly reduce it. If you're looking to completely get rid of the hum, the Extermintor may do a better job(I have never used one). The Hush makes a single coil tolerable for me though.

Well atfer my trip to Hawaii got back at it last weekend. My usual setup, but I did bring home my amp for the first time in over a year! She's gotten lots of loving use at the church by all our players, but I'm lending her out to a buddy for a gig tomorrow night. Yes, I've heard the horror stories of doing such things but I really trust and respect this guy, I've got no worries. I did get her all cleaned up though, after a year in the "amp wall" backstage there was plenty of dust. Lol.

Ya, I had to look it up when I saw it. It's not cheap, but fairly reasonable price. And while it might not have all the adjustments of a darkglass, it seems very well thought out. Sometimes too many options isn't a good thing.

How does it compare tonally to the Darkglass? I came from the Markbass Compressore and went to the Darkglass as they both seemed to warm up the tone, and if I went to something smaller yet, I'd need (or at least prefer) the warmth they give. As always I'll check Bongo's reviews too ...

I had a Super Symmetry a couple of years ago, it did darken the tone a bit from memory, the Apex doesn't. To my ears at least.

I have the Super Symmetry (again)...bought one, sold it for a Cali CB, then went back to an SS...I missed the vintage vibe the SS provides.

That said, I'm a huge fan of Broughton pedals, but have stayed away from Josh's compressor as I'm hearing (via my research) that it's pretty clean, more similar to a Cali CB. No doubt it's an awesomely built compressor, but just not my tonal preference.
