I was wondering about the TCE SubnUp. I like my TCE Spectracomp and Chorus more than I thought I would (in fact I will be poking @glassmoon about his preferred tone print). I'm thinking the SubnUp isn't tonePrint enabled, though.

I have a Sub'nUp and love it. I wanted something that specifically had the octave up. I don't use it very often, but it's fantastic. I use the Smoothbass toneprint. So, to answer that question, yes, it's toneprint enabled. So is the mini, though it has one less toneprint available in the app than the full-size. I'm not sure why.

So, to answer that question, yes, it's toneprint enabled. So is the mini, though it has one less toneprint available in the app than the full-size. I'm not sure why.

I liked my full size Sub'nUp so much, I bought a mini also!

Ya, it's pretty intuitive and easy to get all this pedal can give you. Even when I combine it with other pedals, it's not overly complicated.

That's good to know - I spent the weekend with my face in my laptop completing work for a presentation today, else I'd have put the cans on and played all weekend I think

I'm gonna have to write a bunch of these words of wisdom down somewhere for when I go shopping!

There are just so many and I guess it's what you prefer - slightly glitchy, yet warmer analogue, or better tracking and slightly less personality in digital. My jury is still out and I don't think I have the definitive answer other than try as many as you can. Take your bass and board if at all possible - that seems to be a huge factor in how these pedals sound.

I did like the Boss. It did what I thought I wanted it to.

It does and it does it really well... I bought one a few years ago for about $22 (today's exchange rate) but was completely underwhelmed. I dunno....

I can't speak directly to the FX, but the Helix absolutely murders on bass. I've been running a Helix LT for a few months, and I have never been happier with my tone.

Yes!!! I had it dialled in with a few great tones. I stopped using it when I got my TCE RH450. My standard basspod tones didn't compliment very well, and I was confused how to get the basspod into the effects loop of the amp. The confusion recently faded, and I'm experimenting with it again. I dusted it off before exploring individual pedals, hoping I wouldn't need the individual pedals. If the basspod would allow me to use 2 mods or 2 delays, at the same time, I might have used it solo. Some of the effects don't stand up against individual pedal equivalents, but others are still great.

We are basically a silent stage (occasionally a certain EG player will break the silence with an amp) with IEMs. My RH450 is my DI, but if I didn't have it, I'd definitely go through the basspod into the DI.


Whoa, way more notes to take with me shopping. I like the idea of the 5th control! It'd be like chording, without chording.

That's how I've always used mine. Right into the effects loop of any amp bypassing the amps pre. I completely agree some of the effects and amp/cab sims still hold up really well. The tones are in there you just need to have patience and tweak!
My 3 favorite models are the SVT, Eden Traveller and the 800rb.

I think it's pretty awesome. The ability to blend in a clean signal on any effect helps keep your low end intact. The signal routing alone is killer. Flip flop pedal order from one patch to the next. I use 4 cable for my guitar setup. That allows me to out delay/mod/reverbs after my preamp and keep everything nice and clear sounding.

A lot of the OD and dirt pedals work really well with a clean blend. I've still got a couple DOD pedals in the board I like a lot and keeps 2 more spaces open. The dirt is really good but the modulation and delay are what really sold me on it.

Does the FX allow you to set crossover blocks to apply effects just to high frequencies like the Floor and LT? That functionality on the LT has completely rocked my world.

Yes you can. I've messed with it some but typically blending some clean in a parallel path has worked just fine for me.

My latest Church PB. For the foreseeable future, this is all I anticipate needing. Being minimal feels pretty good. I added the pic of the IEM monitor so that the mixer would make sense. right now the mix is pretty messed up. People are in each others channels, bass in nowhere to be found apart from what the kick drum mic picks up out of the sub. Doesn't look like it's going to get fixed anytime soon. I finally just put myself on a small mixer. I'm in channel 1 and the IEM out in channel 2. If anyone else is in this boat, I hope what I did helps: Just mix the IEM channels as best you can and set the IEM volume high enough that you can get a good signal to mixer channel 2. Blend yourself in on mixer channel 1 so it's a good balance to your ears and viola! You will be able to dial yourself up and not bring then entire Worship Team with you. Also showing off my KZ-6s in the IEM shot. Super cheap and highly recommended. Got the tip on those from several folks on the P&W forum. Thanks again on that one!! Great suggestion!! Way better than the Behrengers that I started with. The Beherenger IEMs that I presume just came with the IEM gear that the Church bought really don't do much with lower frequencies. I feel blessed that i'm able to have the stuff I have and can now hear myself better so that I can do the best job I can.

Thanks. That sure is smaller/more board friendly. Was about the same money as that little mixer, so I'm good there. Will keep the Rolls in mind is something happens and I need to switch up strategies.

I really want a new bass mono synth. I don't think I could use it s ton but it sure looks awesome. We're on more of an acoustic led thing now instead of the more synthy EDM vibe of a couple years ago

I've just got the T-rex Quint, and would definitely recommend trying it out if you can.
Bear in mind I only got it last week and therefore my spectacles have still got a strong rose-tint to them...

It's got 4 controls: -1 octave, +1 octave, +1 fifth, mix. Mix is the overall blend of the effect and the clean signal, and the others are volume controls. -1 octave gives a very nice, tight octave down. It tracks well down to a low G, possibly F#. 1st fret on the E string it just doesn't do. Which is fair enough - a lot of octavers cut out at around A. the fifth above is really just a bit of fun, I'm not sure how you'd use it unless you wrote a song that specifically required it.
The possible ace-in-the-hole as far as you're concerned is the octave up. It tracks very well, and has a VERY synth quality to it. If you want the straight ahead old-fashioned octave sound, then it's mix at 55:45 (slightly more dry signal), octave down at 75%.
But if you want that synth quality, then it's mix at 50:50, octave down at 80% and octave up at 25%. That adds the synth effect, but the actual note is buried enough that you don't hear it.

Like I say, I only got it last week, but to my ears it tracks miles better than the Ashdown octaver, and it's not as sterile-sounding as the TC Electronics Sub'n'Up - which would probably be the closest rival.

Ive looked at the quint a little since it seems its price has dropped considerably. I just don't know about a digital octave since latency is always a thing...even if minor. it seems like everyone always has a different experience when using the same digital octave. I agree in the demos the lower octave seemed much tighter and hefty than the pog and subnup
