Worship Bass Pedalboards

I have not looked through all 191 pages of this tread so please forgive me if this has already been answered. I have just recently started playing bass at our small Church service. We usually have a piano or keyboard, one amplified acoustic guitar, some light percussion, and a few vocalists. I’am looking for something to have my bass give a fuller sound to the group. I,m new to pedals so I,m not sure which would work best for this. I was thinking maybe a chorus pedal. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I have a choice of both but prefer to use my Rumble 100 because I can hear myself better and I feel my tone is better then using the House. The Rumble has no problem providing enough volume.

I'm a HUGE fan of effects but based on your description I would first just make sure you have the EQ (including coloration/preamp) that you want. If you really need to fill it out from there you could consider some sort of octave or POG-type pedal. Reverb adds airy-ness but I'm not a big fan of it. I'm not sure chorus is really what you're looking for.
I run into a mxr m80 preamp with that going straight to the board and mu rumble 200 as a stage monitor.

Not sure where I was at last time I posted, but went through a few DI’s and now am using the RNDI which is what all of our campuses use, so I finally got one for myself for studio use.
Just got the Moog and after owning it a second time and this time putting it in the LS-2 loop, it’s not being sold again. Such a great sounding filter.
The EQD Avalanche Run has been on there for almost a year now and it’s probably gonna be my end all reverb/delay. It just does what I need so well.
The Buzz will stay until the v2 gets to me. I was able to play them side by side at NAMM, and the v2 sounds exactly the same at its core but has a few more options added to shape the tone a little more in detail.
Meatbox, OC-2, and duality have all been on my board forever. The Ditto I’ll most likely keep at home for Demo use only, and replace that spot with a comp or something.
Currently using the MXR iso brick but plan on taking that out for home demo use only and replacing it with the strymon power supplies. The ideal plan is to have both an RNDI at home and one for live use, as well as an Olympic for each as well. Doing demos as much as I have been it’s really be nice to have a dedicated setup with a looper, power supply, and DI so I don’t have to tear stuff apart just to test and make videos.

I would recommend you try a Zoom MS60-B. Erase/ignore all of the presets, and start with some tone shaping effects like the EQs preamps and maybe the Exciter. Once you get a tone you like, experiment with different effects like chorus, delay, octave etc.... Once you find some sounds you like, you can always get the “real” pedals that you’re modeling in the Zoom. With up to a four effect chain, it can be a great learning tool.
Instead of an actual 'effect' pedal, you could look at something like the Eden Glowplug: it's basically just a 12AX7 tube with some controls. It does what it says on the tin: adds some tube warmth to your signal. With the settings I have (very gentle), it adds an Ampeg-style 'hump' in the low-mids. Works well if you're going straight to FOH, also adds some midrange beef to a Jazz bass.
I'm not sure what other pedals do an equivalent job - something like the Ampeg SCR-DI or the Tech 21 Character series VT bass, perhaps. At the cheaper end of the scale, possibly a boost pedal like the TC Electronic Spark (which is also avaliable as a mini pedal) would be worth looking into. I don't know enough different pedal brands to tell you all the options, others can suggest.
Do you have a music store near you? A good place to start would be to go there and try a chorus, an octave, and a gentle overdrive, just to narrow down exactly what sort of effect you're looking for. All three of those will beef up your sound (especially if they have enough controls for you to dial in the sound you want), but they alter the signal in very different ways.
Sometimes you can order stuff online, but it's good to know exactly what your requirements are before you do.

Question for the masses on HX Stomp. It looks like I am going to be Playing a lot more guitar vs bass at church. I guess this is ok for me but I have really tailored my pedal board to bass so far. I was thinking I needed a dedicated board for guitar but had another idea. For guitar I really need a delay with tap, reverb and chorus. I tend to also use a chorus with the bass too. Instead of buying a set of dedicated pedals I was thinking the HX stomp might work for both guitar and bass. I am not newbie to modelers but up until this point I didn’t think a modeler chorus sounded as good as a pedal etc, For those of you that have the HX how does it stack up? The last line 6 modeler I used was an HD500 which I ditched for an eleven rack. For bass it would be straight effects and maybe an IR. For guitar the Stomp would do everything. So how many use the stomp and how do you like it? How does the new processors effects stack up against dedicated pedals?
I don't have hands on experience with the Stomp, but I use a Helix LT that has entirely replaced my pedalboard. It sounds GREAT. Not "great for a digital modeler." Not "Great for something that can do so much." Just "great." My tone with the LT is the best that it has ever been at church. Personally, I would highly recommend that you consider just going whole-hog and getting an LT or a Floor and ditching your individual pedals. The Stomp is usually described as half of an LT, but it's really more like a quarter of an LT in terms of capabilities.
Used Tech 21 Bass Fly Rig this morning instead of my usual board as I didn’t feel like lugging the full board—I have to say I was very impressed, as was our sound guy. Super clean signal running just a hint of eq, light comp, very light chorus.
The helix stuff is pretty killer. I’m using the HX effects for guitar and bass and downloaded native on my laptop to demo the amp and cab models and they also sounded great. The only thing with the stomp is it’s limited to 5 or 6 blocks that you could fill up really fast with amp and cab sims. You may not have a lot of processing power leftover for effects. I’ve never maxed my hx out but I have a couple dirt pedals I like and a VTDI for my amp tone.
That sounds like what I was imagining. I used my subway di with my acoustic and it sounded pretty great this morning. I don't think I could ditch my pedal board completely. Does the Hx have a position for IR's?
