Worship Bass Pedalboards

My latest setup(s) for Sundays depending on whether I think I'll need a little warmer OD/fuzz or chorus in the songs. I used the TAFM last Sunday and it is pretty much everything people say it is.

I think it sounds fantastic. Very warm and tubey (obviously). I found if I turn up each channel's volume a bit (while "Combining") then compensate with the Master I get a nice warm, not quite breaking up but almost there, tone. It's a little large for smaller pedalboards, but, if you have the room then I recommend it.

Paired well with the HPF-DI as well. The Stomp was primarily used for Compressor + Octave + Overdrive + HPF/LPF + Reverb. Monday a Studio One is arriving, can't wait to see how it pairs with that one also!

It's purple and I got it on Reverb. They also have red, gold, black, and blue ones aside from the standard silver ones. I wanted a gold one but was able to negotiate the best price on a mint purple one.

I wanted the gray (black and white) TAFM, but the pink one was brand new on sale for $30 off (on Reverb) which ended being around the same price as used units on there and here, so the pink one was a no-brainer for me.

another who runs the bass preacher. I have one, I like it. It might kick my accountant off the board. I like the size of the accountant, the bit of drive, but not the brightness it adds. The bass preacher seems to be pretty neutral and easy to use, I have had it for few years and sold all other comps but that one so far.

1. Check out this product that I found at NAMM. I have no affiliation whatsoever, but the design is fantastic and it can run off of 48v phantom power - Tuner + DI (TDI) This might be a nice solution for some of you who need to run straight into a DI on occasion, or perhaps for the sound guys on here who are looking for a minimalist solution that also provides the player a tuner and a mute switch. I would love to convince our crew to pick one up since we have some bassists who show up with nothing but the bass, a cord, and they monitor directly from the Aviom's.

2. My board got a total rewire tonight to make room for several new additions. The only pedals that survived within the last year are the tuner, Grand Orbiter, and the AlphaOmega (also the amp, but that's not a pedal). Everything else is new, including a swap from the Rolls PM50se to the PM55P that has the built in limiter. I don't like having my ears blown out by RFI or feedback.

I’ve been down to this for a long time...

I recently acquired a Sadowsky Preamp/DI pedal that I intended to use for my passive G&L jazz bass. I may try it with my others. Don’t really need the bass and treble boost only controls with my active Roscoe’s, but it seemed to me when I tried it that the DI alone lends a certain something to the tone, even if not engaged. A poor mans Nobel maybe. And I am playing my passive P a lot lately. Can always just turn off the preamp when using my active Roscoe’s. Hmm. Maybe I’ll try that at church tomorrow. It’s just guitar, bass and drums. No keys to muddy things up.
