Yeah, I kept seeing the pattern reoccur and was like, "I need to try this for myself". The MicroSynth definitely gets tamed quite a bit getting put through the Tone Hammer, kind of acts as some compression, pulls the really high freq's out. Otherwise the MicroSynth on its own gets pretty wild.

I’m still debating getting a bunch of pedals and doing my “Synth” bass that way or keeping my board small and using a real synth.
I vote real synth. I'm working on incorporating mine into some songs using a Roland PK-5 to trigger it.
That’s cool. Kind of hard to play songs like 24K Magic with pedals though. I’ve been using a friends Roland JD-Xi. It’s ok, and relatively inexpensive. I wish it didn’t have mini keys but for the size and price...of course for church, it’s lots of long sustained notes so pedals could be cool as well.
I still debate using pedals (like Ian Allison who gets such fantastic synth sounds) but there are some advantages to a keyboard synth, like presets, and sustain, and some things just “lay/play” differently on a keyboard. Kind of like you think a little differently when playing a 4 string over a 5 string for example.

I didn't realize Sire had a shorty... is there any neck dive at all??
That's why I traded my Squier SS Jag. I loved how it felt and played, but that neck dive drove me crazy
I haven't noticed any crazy neck dive, it's been great to me so far. Just what I'd expect from a short scale, just a little more than normal 34".
Wooo, that's some serious square wave setting!! I usually use mine to shimmer on top with Guitar all the way up and Sub and Octave a little more than half, but Square about a 3rd and it sizzles. Looking at the other photos posted though, it looks like I need to be more daring and kick mine up some notches!!
don’t know if you’re using a Tone Hammer, but it definitely tightens up the low end and rolls off the highs, so that could be why the square wave is a lot higher in this setup.
Not using a Tone Hammer, although I love Aguilar stuff and used to play through a DB-751 at a big church. That amp is legit. (Liked that Aguilar sound so much that I put their P&J PUPs into an Ibanez Mikro right after buying it recently and absolutely love the sound of that little bass)

Lol. My old SRV/Hendrixy WL (And one of the old bass players) had a couple of pedals they just black taped over the names. I’ve thought about that with my VOODOO LABS power that’s on top of my board.
I actually smirk at having my 3L You’re Doom on my board. I would personally tape over some of the more explicit double entendres if I had them.
For such a cheap pedal you could always pull the knobs and tape the jacks and give it a shot of spray paint and relented the control names if needed and give it a custom look!
Yeah, noticing that pattern too. For a touring bassist playing in large venues with house sound for days, having a pedalboard preamp as the basis for your sound makes all the sense in the world, just DI that into the board and your load-in is your bass case and pedalboard. I was expecting the POG2, but the Microsynth is the POG synth mated to an envelope filter. I did expect someone would be rocking an Avalanche Run, that's about as ambient and meditative as it gets in a single pedal. I personally like at least one more option for gain, it depends on whether you cross over from CCM into CR during worship (most teams, not so much).
It didnt work. I send it back. Multiple issues, i report them to Acoustic.
Good to know. I was looking at this one as well , but was afraid it would suffer similar QC issues as their amps/heads.
OK, it's impossible to find a 3Leaf Octabvre Mini (or mkii) anywhere. Kind of like trying to get anything Broughton. Very frustrating. I am ready to pull the trigger as it's the one octave pedal that I think can sound like a synth without any other pedals (filter, drive, chorus) to help it. It may be a wormhole, but I'm tempted to go the pedal route for synth bass as I can use them in different combinations for synth sounds - with or without dirt, filter, etc - and by themselves for other tunes.
There will be another run of the newer MkIII in December. Not sure if that helps.
