Thanks for the other thoughts. Is there an OD that has 2 options with a foot switch? I mean I don't like (typically) to have the same as everyone else- I lean to custom/ boutique in life when i can afford it! I know some popular pedals have I guess 2 channels so you can have mild and wild at the push of switches (or turn off ?)

it's discontinued, but a boutique tube screamer with two channels you can set independently is the chase bliss audio Brothers.
there's also the Seymour duncan diamondhead and the Seymour duncan palladium. I'm writing this on my phone so excuse my brevity!

I need a new drive pedal. I have a Boss ODB-3, it's just okay. I like a Sansamp boosted drive SVT setting type tone. I have a BDDI v2 already but want something to turn on and off with my foot. My BDDI is always on already. I could reach down and turn knobs on it if I have to but I am looking for ideas for something that sounds similar in a drive pedal. Preferably something dynamic that gets grittier when you dig in. What are any of you using?

Basically what I am looking for. An always OD and a gritty dynamic pedal. OR both of those in one….

I just want to put this here. Quite proud of this tone. It is Empress Bass Comp > Stomp > Khan DI.

The Stomp preset has a dual SVT amp sim (one SVT for 340Hz and below and one for above 340Hz). On this set Im also using the Stomp to provide an Octaver (Breathe Miracles), overdrive (B7K sim), and HPF/LPF (though sometimes I have a Chorus in there).

I won't lie... every YouTube demo I've listened to on the B7K, I just didn't like. It was just really heavy noise..

But holy moly!! This sounds phenomenal, man. How high is your drive setting in this?
Sounds so good and sits perfectly

I use this: MBD2 MOSFET Bass Distortion 2 as always on and when I want more I add a modeler of the ODB-3 on top.

I have been using a Neural Quad Cortex and am very surprised at how much I like it. I l love my tube gear.... but the QC's ability to capture the inherent tone and feel of devices is incredible. Capturing the tube device and then listening side by side is remarkable. I've got captures of the REDDI, Goliath, Emperor, LightningBoy DI Vision, Noble and several others on board with surprising realism.

Lately, I've been running a QC chain of compressor --> Goliath capture --> slight reverb --> Darkglass Harmonic Booster (when needed) --> LightningBoy DI Vision as tube DI... then the actual XLR out on QC to FOH.

How well does the QC capture the weighty "oomph" of the tube DIs?

The Helix will give you more than enough for bass. It can be a full rig for electric. Our guitarist uses the LT. Only drawback is that it doesn't have the channel strips but you still have the full display to see your signal chain or snapshots. Would be an excellent choice if you do anything with an expression pedal.

I watched a few videos and it seems more wild than mild. How is it actually live for worship? Can you get a range of the mild tube type drive out of it or does it go to fuzz pretty quick? That's the issue I have with the Boss OBD-3.
