There are settings to reproduce the EQ of a noble in the stomp and it gets very close

Worship Bass Pedalboards

I thought it would be interesting to review my pedalboard progress. There have been various iterations of each of these in terms of arrangements or a pedal or two swapped out. Things began fairly reasonable with essentials:
I got some "fancier" pedals:

Who needs pedals when you have a computer? (Helix Native Plugged into MainStage)
Working (rehearsing at home) now with Bias Amp 2 on my iPad. Maybe soon I will run everything off the iPad? I just ordered a Positive Grid Riff Audio Interface. At home tests I can practice with just my iPhone, Bias Amp 2, Garage Band, and my Scarlett Solo. It's amazing all the options we have today.
What's the goal? I always wanted to be the Bass -> Amp guy but we are IEM only on silent stages. I am still trying to be the Bass -> Amp guy but working within the restrictions imposed upon me. I do take the laptop out from time to time. This past Sunday I mounted the Scarlett under the laptop stand and used a 1/4" to XLR, no Khan. I am trying to get the iPad, which I take anyway for chord charts, to run the whole thing. I may still run the Khan after the iPad rig as it sounds so good and I already spent the money on it.
And for inquiring minds, all the pedals I am not using now are up in the closet, or repurposed to my son's guitar board, in case I change my mind again.

Stomp -> Khan (or any tube di) is amazing. I’m already digital with the Stomp so I’m exploring my other digital options. So far I’ve used Helix Native on my MacBook Air, various plugins to MainStage and GarageBand, Bias Amp/Bias FX on iOS. They all sound great, different and uniquely their own, but great nonetheless. I just ordered the Riff (audio interface that’s powered directly from your phone or iPad) so we’ll see how it integrates with the Bias Apps.Loved the evolution! I understand the hesitation to use computers and iPads etc on dive bar gigs but I think we’re pretty safe on a Sunday morning.
I hear you. To be honest the main reason why I won’t use a computer is because I work in software and the last thing I want to do while playing bass on weekends is being in front of a computer
I’m sure the possibilities are endless. I may borrow a tube DI. The other bass player in the church where I used to play had Stomp into Noble and he did sound good.
Our keyboard player in the cover band uses a MacBook Pro and I’m not sure how he interfaces. It usually works, but the times it doesn’t, it sucks. That what scares me away a bit. And now that I use my Stomp for everything (I was thinking MainStage and having a keyboard controller for my synth stuff) I think it’s a little more trouble free and of course smaller and easier to take around.
I have thought about a tube DI, but like I said before, no one really seems to notice a big enough difference. And as I am 2 channel now (cover band not church) I’d need 2 of them.

One for the wet channel and one for the dry channel, assuming I wanted tube DI for both.
I brought a Boss Delay pedal to Church one morning to use just a hint of delay for a couple of songs . Can’t remember the songs it’s been a while back but I am standing right beside the drummer. He is also one of the elders of the Church. He is an awesome musician plays drum very well and guitar and probably bass. Anyway I was hooking up the pedal got it all ready, and he looked over at me and shook his head and said we don’t need that are any other effects. I wanted to say you are the drummer and I don’t tell you how to play drums. But he is an Elder and a big help to the team when the song leader gets stuck on something . Well we been playing a lot of newer stuff and it’s been a couple years. I thought about sneaking a couple of pedals in and putting them down where he wouldn’t notice them . He wouldn’t notice them until I used them and then see what he’d say. But I have to remember I don’t want to start trouble just want a chance maybe during pray when we’re all together. But again what pedals would you suggest.

(just kidding)Do you have a rehearsal? Bring a pedal or two to the rehearsal and politely, but firmly, mention to the drummer that you trying some pedals out to see if they add something to the overall mix. That way you aren't hiding anything.
As far which pedals, that could be any number of things. Others will chime in with suggestions. It largely depends on what you are hoping to achieve and the songs that you play where a pedal or two could be a positive experience for everyone.

A little mild dirt with a touch of chorus adds a bit presence with a hint of, of, of a word I just brain farted out and apparently can't get back. But it sounds nice and it's not going to overwhelm or invade the mix, especially sounds nice on slower subtler songs.
Mild dirt, chorus and tuner are the 3 buttons I have on my Stomp at church. Some always on compression and a tube head or DI of some kind. It’s been all I need.

Same here! Practice gives me a chance to try some things out to see how they work. Sometimes I quickly realize something is a bad fit, sometimes the WL gives me a thumbs up/thumbs down, and we iron it all out there. I try never to bring something into a worship service that I have not tried out in practice.
For sure, I play all sorts of stuff during self practice and throw a few things in during rehearsal, but most of it never makes the cut. Occasionally though I'll drop something in rehearsal on accident that's just too tasty to leave out. I know it's acceptable if I get a look from the WL.
Thanks for all the ideas I thinking about getting I decent multi effects pedal, that way I could try each effect and only have one pedal on the floor. When I played guitar and played Christian rock and some metal I used some rack effects and a midi pedal . But I know that wouldn’t go at Church.
Other than silent stage (no amps) my last church didn’t care - whatever let you play your best was good. The church we’re part of now is like that except we can have amps. I take one or two Fender Rumbles (two just sound better), but could show up with an SVT and fridge and be fine. It would be pointless; I can’t even crank a 100 watt Rumble in our space, but no one would care. Laugh and rib me, sure.
I don’t understand why anyone would care unless there just wasn’t room or something.
