Worship Bass Pedalboards

Shhh.... Saying that in public could get you an outright TB ban. o_O

My boards are full right now (with at least one Broughton each) & I've got 8 other Broughs not on boards at the moment. We can fix you right up! ;)
lol. I won’t by any Broughton related pedals until I hear them first. (There’s a strange like unspoken gate keeping thing with these pedals) I’ve done the buy blind thing in the past they’re aren’t very many demos around at least of the ones I’m interested in and that’s crazy to me. Never again will I purchase a “sound enhancing device” completely blind. Did that with 2 Broughton pedals, among others, and was really disappointed. Saying all that the ssdi I had was fantastic just too big for what I wanted.

The good thing about some of the Broughton pedals is that if you don't like them, they sell pretty quickly at the same or higher prices. I tried a Locust Star and a Subsonic that way.

I totally get not wanting to buy before hearing something. But, I never got the gatekeeping vibe with the Broughs... They're some of the most helpful down-to-earth guys in the whole effects forum, IME.

If there is something you want to hear, mention it in the thread & someone is bound to point you to a previous post where someone recorded a demo. And if they can't, a lot of times they may go out of their way to record clips just for you.

Yeah that doesn’t work for me anymore. Unfortunately I just don’t want to do that. Just let me hear what they sound like first.. spend 200 to demo a pedal only to sell for 190 maybe get 200 back possibly.. eesh done with that.

Gatekeeping? Maybe back in 2017, 2018ish. Those dudes have moved on from TalkBass to their own Discord server. Nowadays there's hype, but hardly gatekeeping. And yes, some of the hype is excessive. But some is real. I've been disappointed by Broughton pedals. I've also been blown away.

I'm sorry to hear this. The process of buying and trying pedals, when done responsibly, is very educational. And, realistically, it's the only way to try most of what is out there and find out what works best for you. Brick and mortar stores simply don't have the stock to offer a viable alternative.

The Tonex looks cool. I don’t know a whole lot about it, but if it’s what I think it is, then I would probably use it as an amp sim and just run with one preset…an SVT or B15 type thing. So, the One would be a good choice for me over the bigger version.
I’m not looking to go in that direction now, but it’s always nice to have more gear options.

Did everyone see the info on the new Origin Cali76 compressors? Added a screenshot so nobody has to go searching.

Yep. I like the new form factor & metering.

Currently available through Thomann & Anderton's, but US dealers are still a few weeks out.

BUT, if you can live with the taller box & no metering the coming days/weeks will be prime time for snagging a V1 at an amazing price as the V1 price is bound to plummet on the secondary market due to everyone selling them to finance the V2.

On that note, theres a V1 in the classifieds for $245 right now.
