Worship Bass Pedalboards

Alclair CMVK here. Quite a bit different than my old Shure SE425s. I like them, and would do customs again. Great isolation and tons of low end. I can keep my volume low and not get fatigued with them in. I might go for a flatter model next time just to be able to compare, but I'm happy. Alclair came to the church I used to play at (they do a roadshow thing) and did my impressions then (for free). Thought about it for a while and then waited for a sale and ordered.

For those who don't have (or don't care to spend) the coin to go all in on Custom Molded IEMs I present to you an inexpensive solution that works REALLY well if you're willing to do a little DIY:

Radians - Tan Custom Molded Earplugs

Combine your favorite lower end IEM (KZ's work well) with Custom Molded Ear Plugs & you can get many of the benefits of CIEMs for a fraction of the cost. I recommend grabbing two of the above linked kits for a single set, that way you can be sure to have more than enough material on hand for a perfect fit.

There are other videos on YT that get more granular about the process, but this one covers all the basics. It's not rocket surgery 🤪

That would probably help. 😀 I am using the 64 Audio U4s. I like them a lot. At home, with my setup, they are a bit more 'reference' like. At church, and through the board/processing, they sound fantastic.
Which, if I think about it, is probably for the best. At home, I can hear exactly what I sound like--every nuance.

Yes. Definitely intrigued & am on the wait list.

A friend here on TB had his arrive over the weekend. He's playing music that is far from worship bass so it's a YMMV kinda scenario, but he raved about it.

Boggles my mind that there is no tweaking of the bias knob in the demo. Willing to bet that that will be where the magic lies for dialing in the sound I want out of it... Because frankly, the demo tone is not my favorite (the bass used in the demo may also be a factor). At any rate, if it turns out that it doesn't make it on a Bass pedalboard I have a feeling it will shine when integrated with my hardware synths.

I agree on both counts. I'd definitely like to check one out as well once the are in stock again.

How difficult would it be to chop up my pedal train classic 1 and weld it back together so it's 12.75" wide?
I just want a pedaltrain style board that's like 12.75 x 12 or something like that. Might be easier to attach two Nanos together but that's still a little bigger than I want....

Not trying to be rude, but since I'm a mechanic by trade… my usual answer to mechanical questions is: if you have to ask, the answer is probably no. 😁

pedaltrains are aluminum and welding aluminum has its own challenges. Have you welded aluminum? Cutting it is the easy part…

I would not be doing it lol. was thinking of asking the fabricating guy at work, he's really good.

See what he has to say! That's a nice thing to have access to. Don't take it for granted.

He may be able to just build you a custom board because you would have to clean the coating off the pedal train and it would never match again, etc, etc…

Easier to get a custom flat pedalboard in just about any size and deal with mounting a power supply up top than to start cutting up a Pedaltrain style board. There are however a lot of copies out there so maybe someone already makes one in that size?

I'm happy with my current Temple boards, but it wouldn't be hard too get a custom width by cutting a wider one down to your preferred size. I think they might have had custom widths available in the past but that was long before I ever owned one. Unscrew the endcaps and hack away! Can't do anything about the depth but I've had no trouble with a Solo or Duo.
