I have a C4 and it does so many things that sound so great, but it doesn't quite get the MicroSynth sound. I haven't owned a BMS, but what I hear on so many recordings and demos shows that the C4 doesn't quite hit that one particular mark.
But it can do way more than the BMS, and so very many things that sound so good. And it does some awesome synth sounds that I use almost every sunday.

I agree on both points. I can get kinda close.

Surprising that there isn’t a preset in the Neuro community.

So I assume you decided to only own 1 and the C4 was the one you chose?

I purchased a used Cali76 Compact Bass compressor from Guitar Center today. I currently have an Empress Effects Bass Compressor but have been wanting to try a Cali76 to see what all the rage is.

I compared the two compressors today and find the Cali76 so much more musical. I love the variety of sounds and the tone is incredible. Will be selling my Empress soon.

I get it! Cali76 all the way!

That's about it. I thought about buying a BMS at one point, but I had a friend (absolute pedal junky. Had 100s of pedals at one time) point out the C4. At first I didn't want to mess around on computers while I practice (it's my day job already!), but then I saw the power. It's an unbelievably powerful pedal, and with a midi switcher you end up having access to so very many sounds.

Interesting! I have a Cali76 and also a Collaboration Devices Compressor that recently switched to using full time. The Empress has always intrigued me though; did you just think it sounds sterile in comparison?

I've seen one or two and tried them. They all were like, "Oh that's a cool sound" but not exactly the BMS sound.
One I liked was called "MicroSynth - Bethel Style". I feel like someone suggested it on here a little while ago. Looks like there's several others now when I search "MicroSynth" in the Neuro App.

I tried a Capo next to the Noble. They were certainly different flavors, but I would have been completely happy with either. The Capo has a ton more options, especially the saturation sections. I really liked the one side of saturation (I think the A side), but the B side wasn't my favorite. I wouldn't say that they sounded too similiar, but both are great preamps. Ultimately, I went with the Noble. I prefer the tone and like the simplicity. But, I could see why so many people love the Capo. There is a big thread about it here on TB.

I'm not sure, but it sounded like input gain because when I dimed it the BMS distorted badly. I trimmed it so the with the "Guitar" slider at 75% and Stop Frequency 100%, all other sliders at zero, I got unity gain and clean tone across the device. Then add in the octave down, octave up, and square wave to taste.

I have a tendency to want to add too much octave down and have learned to keep things better blended. Now when I engage it, it sounds like a small orchestra just entered the mix. Some of those pro worship bass players seem to get their BMS devices to punch/slam more than I can achieve. I'm open to being schooled.

Thanks for the explanation. Super excited about the possibilities.

The board it is going on has my HXS and LA-1A comp also. The LA-1A runs in the effects loop of the HXS. I am going to put the BMS in the loop after the LA-1A initially. That may change but that will be my starting point.

You may want to check out Bryce Vaughn pedal board walk through videos and how he incorporates the BMS and Stomp. I think he does some bass boost after the BMS. I am inspired by his tones - and he does not use a Tone Hammer!.
