Only thing I don't like is that it is taller than the original RNDI. Still can't hide it under a pedaltrain without modding and lifting the board.

Looks awesome. Gonna let others test/review it to make sure the circuit and sound is the same.

I have much less issues with phantom powered di’s noise wise.

If I had the funds, I'd definitely get one. But my budget and the Au to US exchange rate is a killer.
The Neptunium has better functionality with the capacity to adjust the DI output without impacting the 1/4" output. The fact it's top jack and 9V DC run is icing on the cake. He has been very clear though... these Neptuniums are a limited run.

To save funds [and for fun], I build and mod my own pedals from kit's Nathan releases on his other side-gig... Conspiracy to Commit Electronics. Happy with the home-brew set-up :) I may have issues around excessive tube use...

I've built 5 or 6 Nobeliums [I sell these to purchase parts for more kits and pedals I can't make... the other pedals seen here], the Mirage Tremolo [with bright switch] is my most recent, and I finally got V2 of my Bassdude completed [Bassman preamp style] I designed a mod to add the previously unused fourth triode stage as a parallel or series boost. I'm really looking forward to using this set-up when I finish my leave (back to pastoring next week).

I will contact Nathan if/when I get serious. I have had 2 of his preamps in the past but sold them.

The current RNDI is powered by phantom. Doesn't seem to be an issue for those who like it. Full disclosure... I use a Noble but there are plenty of players who love their RNDI. The new RNDI-M appears to be the same exact circuit as the RNDI but smaller for mounting on a pedalboard.

Yes, 100% agree with you! I've never used an RNDI, but I always hear good things about them. I didn't realize they were phantom powered. In my particular situation that wouldn't work all the time. But, if you have access & use phantom power all the time, this might be a nice addition to the lineup. Be interesting to see the reports on it!

Fellow pedal enthusiasts, do any of you play Who Else by Gateway Worship? I love the song.

It has synth bass most of the song then in the end it's bass guitar. I'm going to play it soon for the first time soon and I think a BMS sound at the end would fit nicely but they clearly don't do it in the recording so I'm wondering if it's too much. :) Would love to know what you fine people have done.

I've played "Who Else"... Love the song too. I don't have a synth... so I'm playing what feels good on my bass. Just my normal preamp lightly playing V1 C1 build on V2... then I play 16th on C2 with a pick maybe palm muted... Bridge 1 I'll keep playing 16th... then go to my next gain stage on the Bridge 2 no BMS.

I just loaded "Who Else" in my multitracks Playback app, and listened the bass stem on my X32 mixer. Sounds like Sub bass on the synth starting at C1. V2 it's still sub bass... then on the C2, it still sounds like sub bass with a square wave tone playing 16th on top. Nothing in the interlude.... Bridge 1 sub bass playing 1/6ths... then at Bridge 2 the Bass guitar comes in heavy pick with dirt. Doesn't sound like a BMS. That's the gist of it... probably not accurate... but hope it helps.

EDIT: While I had "Who Else" loaded up on Playback, I pulled out my bass to play with the track... minus the bass stem... and the BMS sounded pretty good on the last bridge before the break to the chorus....🤔 Maybe play what feels good to you... 🫣

That’s in line with what I thought I was hearing but with more detail. I may settle for gainy with pick :)

Played it last week with the Moog. Great song. I used an octaver on the build and BMS on big moment chorus.

Looks like some NNS Nashville Number System? You can find tons of stuff on YouTube to learn it. I have not learned it but always think I should.

Yes Nashville Number System. I took lessons for about a year from a Nashville recording pro and he had me chart every song every week. Really helps to know the arrangement, ready for any key change, and the numbers have helped know note intervals on the neck without thinking. I also like seeing the whole song on one page at a glance.

By the way in praisecharts you can usually get the "stage chart" for free in the number system. It doesn't include the repeats, of course.

Did some experimenting with the LA-1A/CAPO combination this week. I like it, but it is heading toward the too much of a good thing category for my liking. I felt like it lost a little too much definition in the upper frequencies. I think my preference is for the MXR M81, THDI, Digbeth and similar after the LA-1A. I could have dialed the blend/gain back on the CAPO to get the tone I am looking for, but then I loose the ability to go into saturation when engaging the B side.

CAPO with good non tube comp such as the OE, Wampler etc is where it's at for me. The tubiness of the CAPO is right in the sweet spot
LA-1A into a less tube like Pre is killer also.

I found this when I first got the LA-1A. Running it into my Super Bassman or Ampeg SVP Pro Preamp, It just got too pillowy and lost definition and struggled in the mix YMMV IMO etc

Ended up ordering a Cioks Crux this week to run my HXS and free up 2 outlets on my DC7. After re routing some power and changing combos of daisy chained pedals I had less noise, but there is something really funky going on at my church with power or earthing or both. I have noise issues there that happen no where else.

This will be staying for quite a while.
