How do you like the Aguilar AGRO? What does it pair up well with? Alternatives you compared it against?

It's been a long time fave of mine because I can get it to sound like the Fender Super Bassman. The overdrive from that amp will forever be my benchmark. The Tech 21 RPM Pre and the Berg B Amp and Super Pre are the other units that I can get close with.

The Presence and contour controls on the AGRO just make it easy to dial in what I want.

I've only had minor updates to my board. I got a Cog mini TK421 that I really like. I want to get it on a service, but the set lists for the next few services seem to favor the RevivalDrive. The Cog can get dirtier but the songs call for something that blends a little bit more. I switched them out on the board, and then switched them back. I may have room for both. But I also have a mini octave pedal coming, so we'll see which one makes the cut.
I took the Pedalnetics 4 & 5 switches off the top of the Stomp. I haven't really needed to use it and sometimes I hit them accidentally. If it had lights on it, I might just leave it on, but I can always plug it back in if I ever need it.
Other than that, I'm rolling with what I had.

Only thing I don't like is that it is taller than the original RNDI. Still can't hide it under a pedaltrain without modding and lifting the board.

I'd like to see if it fits under a Temple Audio board. I have a mini pedal under one of mine and it fits fine, I think that is close to 2" to the top of the footswitch. Gut says it will fit.

Website says the height of the DI is 1.75." If you add another .25" for Dual Lock, I think 2" will fit under.

I'm tempted to replace my KHAN with the new Neve RNDI. That would reduce the weight of my board a lot.

I have do have a question your Origin Effects DCX and Cali76 pedal foot-switches. Is your foot-switch on your Cali76 a little larger in diameter than your DCX? The V1 Barefoot button didn't fit my Cali76, but it fits on my DCX perfect... I find that kind of strange. Ended up getting a V1 big bore for my Cali76.

Hmm. Yes, the Bassrig and Cali76 look a bit wider than the DCX. I'm not sure what I have (bought used from a TB'er) but they fit all three of them. I have some V2 buttons that do not fit the DCX.

BTW: The RNDI could fit under the Mono board if I wanted to go that way. Easier to top mount for now.

I had a larger RNDI that I sat next to the pedal board and ran a short 1/4" cable. I sold it a few months ago and just used whatever DI was around for a while, including the THDI's internal DI. Then these smaller cheaper RNDI's enticed me to re-acquire and mount it to the board. I need my Sunday morning set-up to be as simple as possible now that I'm having to get the bass and Moog sorted in just 15 minutes between doors opening and start of rehearsal at 6:45am. This smaller board mounted RNDI will help me with that.

In choosing a new DI, I considered the Radial Pro, Radial JDI, Radial SB-1 active stage bug, Pinstripe Clean DI, Pinstripe Little White DI. In the middle of this search, the new smaller RNDI dropped and the decision was pretty easy. Good price, too, got it slightly discounted for only $177.

I also bought a Radial SB-1 Stage Bug active DI for only $70 on Reverb as a compact spare DI, and it will fit under my smaller Mono board, and I can use it for the Moog. My big church has the Radial stage bugs all over the place, LOL.

It tracks well and has good dynamic headroom. Is 3 Leaf worth the upgrade? I do prefer a deeper -1 octave tone to the OC-2 octave tone. I really like the Aguilar Octamizer deeper tones, but I find its tracking to be pretty poor.

I used an Octabvre Mini on a number of services. It has the versatility of 2 classic octave sounds that you can blend between. The only issue I have with the new releases is having two footswitches that close together.

Yes. Both of my boards use an Octabvre: the MKII on my bigger board and the MKIII on my smaller board. I thought the Subsonic was good--insane headroom (frankly, far more than I'd ever need) and good tracking--but I prefer the Octabvre circuit. The sub solo footswitch is a really useful feature when playing live (for example, I can solo the sub for a bass synth tone on verses and then switch to a traditional blended sound for a big chorus or instrumental) and the Tim voicing is amazing for bass synth lines. In general, I find the voice of the Subsonic a bit uninspired when compared to the Octabvre's. But if all you want is pure OC-2 with more volume and headroom, you cannot go wrong with a Subsonic.

I just signed up for their newsletter. Did they already send the one for this weekend? I don't have a 3 Leaf pedal, so no idea how to purchase one. Any insights? Anything to know for this drop?

The two foot switches are close but haven't really been an issue for me. I'm already a bit clumsy stepping on things, but when I've needed to hit it I've been ok in the past. I'm just as likely (somehow) to step on the wrong pedal than get the wrong octave sound, but I'm not normally hitting the sub switch, just the bypass.

I think I'm going to redo my board here sometime and get the Doom2 and the Octabvre in a loop on the HX stomp. That would let me move a few things around and might be better. Time will tell on that I guess.
