If I was thinking of it as an upgrade, I'm sticking with the Subsonic since I rarely use an octaver in CCM songs that I've played. I had a chance to use my octave pedal last weekend... for the very first time... since the isolated bass in the recording in multitracks for a song we were doing was using an octaver. During rehearsal, the WL asked if I could play fills without the octave effects... LOL... I still haven't used my Subsonic in a song.It appears that 3 Leaf is dropping a batch of ovtavers this Sunday. Anyone make use of this device for worship purposes? I'm using the Broughton Subsonic and like it. It tracks well and has good dynamic headroom. Is 3 Leaf worth the upgrade? I do prefer a deeper -1 octave tone to the OC-2 octave tone. I really like the Aguilar Octamizer deeper tones, but I find its tracking to be pretty poor.
If I didn't have the Subsonic, I probably would consider snagging one on release day. According to IMA, it's the pinnacle of Octave pedals that increases in value... but I don't really buy pedals for investment value. I usually keep the pedals that I purchase, so it would be on the pedalboard... even if rarely used, or in displayed somewhere in my office/music room.
