Worship Bass Pedalboards

It appears that 3 Leaf is dropping a batch of ovtavers this Sunday. Anyone make use of this device for worship purposes? I'm using the Broughton Subsonic and like it. It tracks well and has good dynamic headroom. Is 3 Leaf worth the upgrade? I do prefer a deeper -1 octave tone to the OC-2 octave tone. I really like the Aguilar Octamizer deeper tones, but I find its tracking to be pretty poor.

If I was thinking of it as an upgrade, I'm sticking with the Subsonic since I rarely use an octaver in CCM songs that I've played. I had a chance to use my octave pedal last weekend... for the very first time... since the isolated bass in the recording in multitracks for a song we were doing was using an octaver. During rehearsal, the WL asked if I could play fills without the octave effects... LOL... I still haven't used my Subsonic in a song.

If I didn't have the Subsonic, I probably would consider snagging one on release day. According to IMA, it's the pinnacle of Octave pedals that increases in value... but I don't really buy pedals for investment value. I usually keep the pedals that I purchase, so it would be on the pedalboard... even if rarely used, or in displayed somewhere in my office/music room.

I had a chance to use my octave pedal last weekend... for the very first time...... I still haven't used my Subsonic in a song.

A suggestion I picked up from a YouTube demo. Try the Subsonic set at around 100% clean and 25%-50% sub-octave when playing up high on the neck for bigger choruses. It gives the bass authority without sounding like an effect.

Really? I loved it as a sub-bass on quiet parts of the song with sub octave solo’d with tone rolled back. I used it like that on maybe 30% of songs but not since getting an actual synth.

I do not have any octave or sub pedals on my church board but I have to admit I’m addicted yo my B string and love playing octaves notes percussively and using the higher note to ring the fundamental playing whatever rhythmic patterns match the song or playing off of vocal phrasing sometimes. I do love playing the B softly during quiet times! Yes I do!

My subsonic gets used every time, sometimes for entire songs that might sound better in a drop tuning (clean around 9 o'clock and sub around 12 o'clock gets me a good unity naturalish sound). I keep thinking of getting another just for sub stuff. I only play 4 string. (Not starting a debate, I just personally think they look dumb and dont like how they feel, even if it seems practical to use one. )

I used my subsonic today from the suggestions in this thread. Sound guy said in the talkback mic that it sounded great. Well… he said the song sounded great, but I’ll just pretend it was because of the subsonic pedal… haha

Today's bass station. I'm currently into the Origin Black Panel's 1/4" out Fender amp sim cleanish tone with DCX as drive/boost. The Bass Microsynth behaved well in front of these for final chorus on Christ Be Magnified and Holy Forever. And I'm infatuated with the HX memory man model for down sections.

The synth got a lot of work yesterday. The pedal board is the same. I only used OD on one song and the rest of the time was my dry tone. The Stomp is settling in nicely. It's tempting to load it up with everything that it can do, but it's working best for me with just comp, octave, chorus and an effects loop. Then I can use it as needed when we have that one song a year that needs something else.

I don't. I thought about it, but that would be a whole other rabbit hole...
I used to have a small CV controller board, but I've pared that down to just volume. That's what the mini expression pedal next to my pedal board is for.
I was considering using my TH as a preamp for it, but I haven't yet.
I can't say for certain that I wont run a board for the synth in the future, but as it is right now, there's more to explore on the panel. I haven't really even scratched the surface of what it can do on it's own.

If you mean, do I use the pedal board to process the Moog output, I do not do that. The Moog goes direct into a second DI.

I've been waiting a month for my local store to re-stock sp400 square connectors. They mentioned that they are waiting for them to be shipped from Canada. I expect a price increase when they finally get them, so I just ordered it from an online store... I couldn't wait any longer.

I just finished soldering my sp400 patch cables.... and now I'm officially finished with my pedalboard build for 2025 (maybe...).

I did have a Red Button... which looks great with the Strobostomp pedal, but I liked the blue screen theme better.... so went with the Blue Button.

My Crux came in. Ended up cable tying to the top of the DC7 as the connector cable is quite short. Had intended to power my HX with it, but due to the location/orientation, powering the LA-1A seemed more logical. Same net result of freeing up 2 outputs on the DC7. Now everything is powered individually. Was getting some small artifacts on the front end of the note with my BMS sometimes when daisy chained. That seems to gone away, and the Agro seems quieter when engaged. Or maybe I'm just imagining it...
