what are you using to get that tone?

I was thinking of doing the full cover and showing how I got the tone.

It’s actually pretty standard fare stuff. Bass-X, Tone Hammer, fender Vintera II Road worn P with La Bella Ian Martin Allison strings. 45-103. I do use the DCX bass for a bit of vintage tone vibe, but it’s more slight saturation than anything. It’s super subtle.

Nice! I haven't played this song. I like the chorus sound. I've been putting my chorus on the board as needed. But, it's such a cool effect.

I tried changing out my DCX for the Greer Lightspeed, which as a low gain drive is better, but I lost so much mojo? The DCX really is the heart of my direct tone. More so than the Noble or Cali76.

Ordered a CMC Prototype. It’s a bass drive pedal designed how I always wanted someone to make one, with an adjustable high pass filter in the drive circuit and drive circuit only eq controls. Will report back when it arrives!

I just received my DCX and love it. Mojo for sure. It is now the center of my tone. Sounds so good on all basses, my Fender P-Bass and Jazz basses, 5 string S.Martyn, Epiphone Jack Casady, Gretsch short-scale, and my custom Dan Dunham P-51 bass.

The DCX is brilliant and works especially well with a passive P bass. Maybe next week's Origin pedal release will build on the DCX strengths.

So much DCX love. I've bought and sold it a few times, and this last time, I decided to keep it around even if I wasn't using it...because I'd probably buy it again!
I'll have to pull it out again. Maybe I'm missing something. I like it a lot, but hearing so much love, I think it's time to try it again.

Empress Buffer + (use it for muting and fx loop, no boost) > Tuner out to Noir Mini 3 > Cali 76 > 3 Leaf Audio Octbvre > Bass Microsynth > Sound of Justice Expanderous+ > BBJ > SoloDallas Bass-X > TC Electronic SCF (last minute addition for very slight chorus) > DCX Bass Boost > Tone Hammer > RNDI > FOH or interface.

It can both start and end with the Big Booty. I didn't get it the first time around, but after chasing (seemingly) ALL of the popular worship dirt boxes, I tried the BBJ again after watching one of Jordan Landers' more recent clips, I reordered one. It really can be a low OR high gain do-it-all dirt box. It can get WAY nastier than I usually go on Sundays, but this time around (after learning how to use it), I am most impressed by the lower gain stuff you can do. If anything I may want a second to stack for low and mid gain stuff. That germ. version sounds enticing...

I had a BBJ before as well. It was so aggressive that I could not find a use case in modern worship. Your post makes me want to give it another try. G.A.S. Is real!
