y'know... I'm going to leave you with these last few comments and, as you might have noticed, I let my reply to the "strap-failure" in Canada lay for a few years. So don't expect me to do ping-pong with the thread or you. But back to your confused story about my friend having his strap fail in Toronto NOT Montreal or the subsequent 'funny face' comments about U2/Barooga stemming from near-life long friend the guitarist in the band in question.
I'll talk about my friend, not me. You and these other 'hee-hee' authors are talking about one or two nights in a real musician's career and life. I'm wondering if you or any of you boys with grey hair have gone on the road touring for two or three months straight and faced the rigors that my friend did as lead guitarist and lead vocalist in the band. Doing two shows a night for the majority of those two and three months on the road. Sleeping in a new motel/hotel every night, traveling hours and hours from one town to another, lousy food, creepy promoters, bad freezing your rear end and feet/fingers off in winters, unappreciative audiences.
What have YOU or your other trolls done with your life through music. My friend the guitarist/singer? He's been playing every week supporting himself SINCE 1977 when he and I started playing together until I left the band in question in mid 1980. My friend? He went on touring, recording, making a living performing, recording, singing, carrying the main-load of a band. He stayed in that band until the late 1980's... that's ten years doing what I've just described about my friend’s accomplishments and responsibilities. Ten years. WTH… have any you done?....... I mean compared my friend?... seriously, you really enjoy pulling up some ******** you culled on the internet about one or two failures/or bad days in a man's life. Do have any idea or have you even done what it took for my friend to be a headliner act lead singer/lead guitarist on Capitol Records and then have U2 give you a lousy day? You get to put a funny-faces with your messages for the world to see like some 12 year old boy, or girl? Back up and read what my friend has done and then giggle and make :> again. I've seen your basement photos and your “aliases”... yeah buddies.
Ten years in Barooga and then it's several re-inventions as Flash Kahan, still with Bob Seger's management and with Capitol records. Opening for Seger, the Beach Boys other "small change" (ha!) national bands. What have you done other than smirk about a bad night for a musician/band or cull a U2 story off the internet or your confusing a Toronto gig with a Montreal gig or your .... :/>
Then after Ten years with the Capitol/Seger thing..... he's still playing in a band making a living playing music, raising a family, buying a home (a BIG house) from playing music... not working for some insurance company, property management company, construction job, whatever the day-job you're doing. He did/does it playing music.... 40 years.
My friend doesn’t have any photos of him in his basement with his guitar, he's too occupied playing real gigs and supporting his family. I think he'd feel silly posing for photos like some people pretending they are or were successful musicians or putting up a photo that isn't himself on his profile page, it would be more embarrassing then having a StrapLock failure or a bad performance a few times in 40+ years.
Here's wishing you guys have one or two strap-lock failures or being embarrassed with U2 "opening" for YOUR band that's signed to a major label, or having a bad night with Dire Straits.
