He's not slapping.
He's double thumbing.
Meh on the bass.
Meh on the sound.
The worse bass demo is anything done by Tad Sharpe.
He does NO ONE a service with his demos.
Wow......that vid was actually painful!!! I gotta go lie down for a while.

He gets his info wrong on some things, and talks too much.
Besides that, though, I think this is a good demo. Obviously Ed Friedland's a better player, but it's a similar format in that he goes through all the controls and shows what they do, while playing finger and pick style.
Nah, tort always looks like poopie.

I don't watch Norman's Rare Guitars.
Only a few short years ago, a “celebrated” player here had lots of demo videos all over YouTube that were profoundly bad. Sounded like he was a 12 year old just starting out.
Of course, those videos were just fine to the TB collective but the video that the OP posted is something to throw rocks at? At least the guy can play.
I don't get the obsession with slap bass in video reviews in the first place. Sometimes it's all they do, but who among us slaps that much? .
Because it's not about showing the bass.Never mind the bass demo, itself... where's the subtitles? I couldn't understand one word he uttered...
That's the impression that I got about Dave.I will say this: I always thought Dave from 'Dave's World of Fun Stuff' sucked at bass. All his workbench demos of repaired instruments sounded dreadful. Then he got a gig with a band, and he uploaded a live video. Damn. That guy was driving the bus. An absolutely killer bassist in a straight blues/rock band. No soloing or funny stuff, but a solid sense of rhythm and note choice.

"A straight blues/rock" kinda guy.
He tends to ridicule any bass that's meant to go beyond what he does with a bass.
Sounds like one of those old video games.
Wow! What can we do to preserve that!?!![]()
That's an insult to wonderfully composed video game music.
This TrebleBass - it's amazing. Did you know that it's a guitar mixed with a bass? I wonder if it's a guitar mixed with a bass. It looks like it might be a guitar mixed with a bass. Perhaps it's a guitar mixed with a bass?
