He gets his info wrong on some things, and talks too much.
Besides that, though, I think this is a good demo. Obviously Ed Friedland's a better player, but it's a similar format in that he goes through all the controls and shows what they do, while playing finger and pick style.

I disagree. For years this was one of the only demos of the 4003 and not just someone playing Roundabout. Thankfully there are Now other demos out there with people who actually can play bass and know a little something of the model they are playing. For a few years I thought the pickup cover was metal until I purchased one and found out different. Perhaps he confused it with the V63?
Between the anemic playing and BSing on the resonating plastic cover and “double trust rods lending the bass its tone” is great if you need a laugh. However, if you need accurate info on a bass that’s difficult to find in most stores, The Bass Emporium demo or the demo by Jonathan Grooms is much better, IMO.
But don’t let me leave you thinking I’m too hard on ol’ Danny. He’s great! Especially when I need a nap around 2-3 in the afternoon. That voice! I just pull up one of his pedal out of the box demos and I’m out.

Most people seem to only demo 4003s with the pickup selector in the middle position.I disagree. I don't watch demos to see amazing playing. I watch them to hear how things sound. And I had no problems whatsoever with the tone. I don't know where he got the idea that the pickup cover is a resonator though.
The Bass Emporium and Grooms demos run through all of the pickup switch positions.
EDIT: Imagine Norman’s Rare Guitars doing their daily videos with someone like Dan. Norm has a guy like Mark Agnesi who puts a little something into his demos, knows what he’s talking about, and the fact that he can shred the crap out of anything they put in his hands doesn’t hurt either. I’m sure he‘s helped move more product than our friend Dan did at Gearwire.

They’re great. Norms Shop is not just for the high end vintage gear. They have something for every level of player. In fact, one of the most recent videos is of Norm giving a tour of the store, which has an extensive Rick section.

No one works a booth of this type for free. This guy is a salesman by trade. He is getting compensated in some form. It is easy to spot if you have done this kind of work before.
If you didn't know pros have to dress a certain way you may want to talk to some real pros. If you think appearance in product presentation has no impact on buyer behaviour you don't understand the business. Booth work has very specific requirements to be executed properly. Take it from a 30 year seasoned pro.....
Yes...if you are a paid professional you have to dress appropriately for the project whatever that might be. ABSOLUTELY. That could be a tuxedo. It could also be torn jeans, leather pants, fur coat and top hat. But dress for the event. Know the audience. Talk to the guy that is paying your fee on what he wants. What does the manufacturer want to present. That's Professionalism 101 the first three seconds of the course.
He might be a great bass player but he blew this gig.

Mark "I'm not a bass player" Agnesi is very good at demos, he's always interesting, in fact I want them to go on longer sometimes.
So, the point of the video is that if you don't know what you are doing, both amps can sound like crap?
