I don't get the obsession with slap bass in video reviews in the first place. Sometimes it's all they do, but who among us slaps that much? I'll go out on a limb and say most of us never get to do it on most gigs anyway. And for the few pieces that need it, it doesn't quite matter to anyone but us whether we get the appropriate zing, it'll sound like slap bass.

My favorite is the funny looking bass from Australia, I can’t remember the name, played by Freekbass. In the “demo” for this new, rare bass he slaps with an envelope filter. Sure, now I can tell what the bass sounds like.

I feel sorry for Swope guitars. I don't think the demo was bad per se, but it wasn't anything that is gonna help sell basses. But I might want a new tat.

Me personally...its an ugly bass.

I'll give it points on body shape and color, but that is one mugly piece of tort. Those knobs are a poor choice and the headstock is awkward.

The builder says he spent time with Sadowsky, but it looks like he didn't learn anything about design there. Probably swept the floors.

He let this video get out, so he doesn't know much about marketing either.

Fender's official promo videos lately it seems. Right up there with Ampeg's.

Maybe it's all the lossy compression YT uses. But I'd never be seriously inclined to buy anything based on those videos.
