Fender sound good
Ibanez sound like a robot .
The ibanez have eq.

There really is nothing like the sound of a PBass if that is what you like. I started on a really cheap Pbass, upgraded to a nicer 5 string with soapbars and ended buying another PBass because the other just didn't sound right. Good, but just not right. Onboard EQ's can be nice but I find I almost never use mine.

Good lord - I can't even imagine what it must be like to be a bassist in Iran.
Hang in there, buddy. It's gotta get better *someday*!
Well there are a lot more countries that have high selling prices for musical instruments, and where Fender (for instance) is way more expensive then in the States. If you'd buy a MIM in Europe you're also looking at a $ 800 dollar investment. Or if you're looking for a MIM Mustang you'd have to pay close to $ 1000 while I see them online in the States for around $ 550. But that's just the way it works. Some products are always going to be cheaper or more expensive somewhere else on the globe. But I do agree that Iran will probably not be one of the places where you can find a lot of bass equipment cheap.

Some countries its not as mush as the import tax or cost of shipping its getting the item to you without it being stolen on its route.
As far as tax some of my Jamaican friends have had to pay 100% import tax on some items.

Between the expense and the potential for running afoul of the thought police, it would be pretty rough I should think!
