Would a 8x6 cab be crazy?

Agreed but we were talking about efficiency only. It's way to early to be talking about wether or not the power from the amp is constant or not.

We're talking about sensitivity, not efficiency. It's not the same thing, and efficiency is never used as a measurement of loudspeaker perfomance.

Amp power is not a constant. However, amp output voltage is. It's a common misconception that total acoustical output is power limited, and thus the rush to use the lowest possible load impedance in the mistaken assumption that maximum power generated will result in maximum acoustic output. What actually limits acoustic output is the voltage swing of the amp, and that is finite no matter what the impedance load. Since you cannot increase the voltage that an amp is capable of delivering into a load the way to gain maximum acoustic output is via maximum voltage sensitivity.
