Would like your opinion on this bass

I think that's one of the most tastefully done, attractive basses I've seen in some time. Beautiful finish, nice contrasting stripes, body shape and headstock are attractive but slightly different from anything else without being extreme, and there's even a Mosrite-like groove around the outer edge. Top marks!

Thanks for the positive feedback. That's just what I was trying to do with this design; Something simple, somehwat classic looking and clean but not too far out there. At the same time not exactly like what I've seen before; not a copy or a clone. (I'm still dreading the moment when some finds a picture from the 70's of some ancient predecesssor and I'll find out I unconsciously copied it. )

Hehehe, you got that right.

I could make some lame excuse like "I'm only gonna ever build one of these" but the truth is I doubt I could match it exactly. I'll make a template from this body, but a lot was done by the seat of the pants and free-hand. (For example, it took me 6 @#$% hours to do the inlay for the truss rod cover (bird's eye maple into wenge.) First, I've had never done an inlay before, it turns out I chose about the hardest way you can imagine, and third I didn't really have the right tools. I was shaping little tiny bits of wood with old automotive points files. It turns out they have these things called Dremels.... whaddaya know!

I did learn a lot though, so the chances of two future basses looking similar is a lot higher.
