Would these heavier strings suit my playing style?

I have a Fender Jazz Bass and play fingerstyle pretty hard (fits the music I play). I'm not totally happy with the strings Fender sent on it, so I'm thinking of putting some Rotosound 66's on it (my usual go-to). I've been thinking about using the 50-110 gauge instead of the usual 45-105, to give it a tighter tone and a bit bigger sound. Can I tune those up to standard and not hurt my neck? I've never used heavy strings on a bass before.
