Would this help in the bad power dept?

No it wouldn't. Besides, "bad power" is usually caused by outside factors, not the power itself. A surge protector with noise filtering is all you need at the most, and amps have that stuff built in, so a UPS wouldn't do anything you can't already do for cheaper.
 
Trying to give good constant power. Trying to prevent surges and spikes and dips. The way it runs on my computer is the battery in it supplies the power. The 110v from the wall just charges the battery. I just need to know how hungry a LH 1000 hartke is and see if it works for what I want.
 
That is not how that piece works. Like all apc's, they only kick over to battery if the the voltage they receive is less than ~104v or greater than ~134v. There are some power conditioners that will reconstitute voltage by apc, furman and others, but they are closer to 1000$, not 60$. On top of that ups' are meant as emergency back ups to stay on just long enough to avoid getting the sudden kill in power or the spike of it coming back on. If it is hooked up to a pc, it gives you enough time to properly shut it down. A pc draws what, about 100w max? A ups is not meant for power amps current draw. A cheap furman is basically a nice power strip with a fuse, that will at least have a voltage readout on it to let you know when the house power really sucks.
 
APC gives you enough time to shut down a low power (relative to an amplifier) PC if there are power problems. What you're looking for is a diesel generator that kicks in automatically to keep it going, and the APC just keeps things going until the diesel generator kicks in. Then just store enough diesel fuel on hand to last a whole gig.

Or what everyone else said, APC is not going to do what you want it to.

Those are called Voltage Regulators, not power conditioners. Large difference worth mentioning. :cool:
 
Just wondering if I could power my head with this or how many watts would an LH1000 hartke need? I already own a 200w deal.

Look up the specs on this thing. If it's powering your amp from its internal battery, then you might have a playing time of a few minutes. Also, its power capacity is considerably below what your amp can draw. And it specifies a minimum input voltage of 88 V for "main operations" which probably include charging the battery.

I agree with Bill that you don't need the protection, but if you did, this particular thing doesn't have enough hamsters in it, proverbially speaking.
