Would you pay $40 for Primus?

I'm pretty sure I paid $35 to see primus play Austin Music Hall back in '96 or '97--so even though I haven't been to a large show in quite a while, $40 seems about what I'd expect these days. was a good show, and worth it, even though I was in college and didn't have a lot of cash

I've seen Claypool and thoroughly enjoyed the show. Don't recall how much I paid, but it was somewhere in the line of $40-$50. As has been said, if you don't dig 'em, why bother, no matter the price.

That being said... Earlier this year, Jeff Beck had a 3-digit ticket price. I just couldn't pull that off. So, $40 for a good show?? Sure. Why not.

The question is, would you pay $40 to see Primus or $75 to see Willie Nelson? That's how much tickets were to see him here a few weeks ago.

And I'd pay $40 in a hearbeat to see Primus. Or Oysterhead. Or the Frog Brigade. Pretty much any of his groups I'd pay $40 to see.

But then again, $50 is a friggin' bargain to see 311 and Sublime. I would've paid $100 for that.

I saw sublime w/Rome last summer, it was a fantastic show. I know this is treason, but I prefer Rome to Brad live. Plus the band all just looked like they were having a blast playing live again.

I really wanted to see primus, but they aren't anywhere near NOVA/Dc.
And 40 bucks isn't bad, I saw Maiden for over 100 bucks, but got to be front and center the entire show. Saw Rush last month, that was 100 bucks for Eh seats but the few shows I go to are usually like my absolute favorite bands. I might go to 2 or 3 really big shows in a year.
Under 20 bucks, I'll see just about anything if I know some people going or like the band.
