That thing has been haunting my web browsing for months, it just popped up:

This is just another example of the companies being out of touch with musicians. This video explains how Gibson lost touch. Looks like Fender is following suit with stuff like this. Right around the 15 minute point the video hits the mark on these extreme reaches. I think they are dead on, that is what custom shops are for.
(by the way, back in the early 80's I used to roller blade around the lighthouse and down to the town center and hit the French bakery for a coffee. Before the earthquake. Now I live on a bay where you can go inthe water without wetsuit... ;) )

If I had that kind of money to spend on a bass, I would probably spend it on something else, but (lose the tug bar and) I love the look. I love lighthouses and know that particular lighthouse and beach well. As others have noted, even if graphics aren't your thing, just look at that masterful transition from headstock to fingerboard. I would be a bit surprised at the hate if this wasn't the internet, but it most definitely is :rollno:
