WOW! A Sick LEJ5!

That's definitely a nice one. I wouldn't mind owning one, but the $$ just ain't there right now.

I love Dan Lutz's demo of his LEJ on Youtube.

I feel you man. I was super impressed with the LEJs I played when I visited the Low End shop. I also felt that Brian Barrett was a super nice and down to earth guy. I think my Fender will have to do, but if I can see my way clear, I would love one of those sizzly basses.

Very nice. I've always enjoyed checking out the different colours and pickguard/hardware/wood variations in the LEJ basses. I feel like a kid drawn to candy.

Surprised no one's gotten hot about this one ... yet.

How are the weights on those instruments? I'm on my never ending search for a sub 8lb. 5'r!

Depends on a few things - primarily the woods you choose, whether your bridge is brass or aluminum, & whether the knobs are brass.

I recall him having a 6-string at 8 lbs once. One of my 6-strings is under 10 lbs, and one just over 10 lbs (with brass bridge and knobs which add at least a pound right there).

I also bought a DJ5 off Brian which is only around 8.5 lbs but a lot of people say their Skyline/DJ basses are much heavier - around 10 lbs - which shows there can be a lot of variance even among "identical" mass-produced basses.

As for the website, I find it to be refreshingly simple and easy to navigate.
