Playing with the late, great Paco meant also walking in some very big shoes: one of the greatest bass players ever, Carles Benavent, was a big part of Paco's sound for a long time (Tony Levin is a fan of Carles...).
If you want to check out some more contemporary flamenco, listen to Ojos de Brujo. Their bass player is also really good.
