I was gonna say, what the heck are we laughin' at?

Really, first of all Jan Akkerman is a BAD@$$ guitarist (listen to some of the jazzier "outside" stuff he's doing there! ), the drummer is very solid, and has good chops, the bassist is buried, but what I heard was good, and the frontman/keyboardist may look a bit odd, but that stuff ain't easy to pull off!

When the keyboardist went into the whistling part I thought the guy was going to either have an aneuryism or blow out his snaggle-tooth.

What's the difference between a Les Paul Personal and a Les Paul Recording?

Both had the same low-impedance pickups, designed for direct connection to the studio board. But the Recording had internal impedance-switching circuitry for playing through a regular guitar amp, whereas the Personal did not. There was a separate hi/lo transformer unit available, though.

The Recording, being front-routed, also had a big plastic guard on the lower bout to cover the electronics.
