I woke up this morning in a foul & pissy mood... even bad for a Monday morning. Then I opened this thread and that vid and... I'm so happy I feel like "yodeling"!

I've posted several times telling the story of how my first gig (well sort of gig) ended up with the Fire Department coming. I was showing this video clip to my daughter just now and she was just like 
until I told her that I think this was the song we were playing when the curtain caught on fire.

One of my favourite covers of all time, but does anyone know what kind of bass Bogert is playing here? Looks like a telecaster style body... I haven't seen one of those outside of G&L or Warmoth...

I agree--the Ramones, the Clash, Elvis Costello, the Jam, Joy Division...
Not true. It's just that anything remotely interesting doesn't get on the radio anymore. The bean counters have a firm grasp on the radio business, and the sheer size of the Boomer generation means there needs to be 28 classic-rock oldies stations in each market.

You're right. That's not really fair of me to assume.
What I meant was, most modern pop music. I didn't mean to encompass all modern music. That was my fault.
No worries, man. I'm in my mid-40s, and find it's easy to fall into that trap of making assumptions about music today based on what's popular. My fear of turning into a grumpy old man makes me fight it.

I don't know about you, but when I'm old, I'll embrace the grumpiness that comes along with it. Of course, it may not be nearly as awesome as Clint Eastwood makes it look, but can you really fault me for thinking so? He just makes everything look so cool.
