Wow, what a pain THIS is...

So, I went and got a Fulltone Bassdrive MOSFET on Saturday. I love the pedal, but something's wrong... it picks up radio signals. This only happens when I activate the pedal, and the signal comes in more clearly when I turn on Boost. Can someone help me, please? It would be much appreciated!

Its prolly the pups. The Fulltone is just amping the signal.

There is a RATM song when the Morello (sp?) stops playing at the end you hear a recording of a radio station being picked up by his guitars pups. It sounds cool, and they kept it on the recording.

I get something simmilar on my SX jazz if i only use 1 pup, which ive been doing recently....

I honestly dont know. Ive just kept the pups that my bass came with. IIRC I picked up a station with my P style pup on my noname bass, so I dont think that a humbucking style of pup will do anything.

Do you use both pups or just one? cus one will be wired opposite to the other so that with both on its like a large humbucking style pup

Im just thinking of an easy way to test whether humbucking type stuff will prevent radio signals from being picked up by your bass

It could be the pickup, but thats normally directly associated with hum like interference from lights etc...

Radio stations are actually normally picked up by your lead working as an aerial. Wireless systems get around this problem, or you could try different leads. Its probably always been happening, but now you have something that is really bringing that sound out.

Or a cheaper alternative is to wrap yourself in chicken wire. :p
