Wrap My SX

bc015.jpg

Is this Vern's in Calgary?

I love this idea.. I like wrapping the front then painting the back while sunbursting into the front graphic. Of course you'd never be able to take it back off with out a mess.

Can you paint over that stuff?

Good job

US flag looks good - I'd like to see some "wilder" designs though - the Texas flag isn't doing it for me - maybe the resolution looks lower or something...just doesnt look quite right...

I'm right there with ya... S Tapper... I've already decided to remove and replace the print on the Turd Bird. The print IS to bland and clashes with the headstock and neck. I still want to do cannabis leaf but wife keeps nixing that idea.

Hahaha - what about getting a designer or someone to create something for you instead of just using a "stock" photo...

What happened to the idea of a creature crawling out of the bass - like an alien or something with green goop or blood coming out? That could look sweet.

This is too cool!

I started working on cutting and beveling a lucite replacement pickguard for my Jazz V, which has an ugly, stock w/b/w. Originally, I wanted a white pearl, like my old Highway One bass that I recently sold, but those are hard to come by in 5er size. The idea is to have my wife make a photoshop collage of photos of our boys, print a hi-def copy and adhere it to the inside of the clear pickguard. Kinda custom, but not like a wrap.

Now, this has me thinking that the same idea can work as a wrap, but on a larger scale...cool. Add me to the future customer list!

I'd say, on the jazz...NO BLING,(Bling looks cool, but with the wrap...nah.) and the wrap is busy enough around the exposed areas, without being "too much"..so the PG can stay.

Now, the Tbird..I don't think it looks right with the PG on.

That said, the wrap is kinda...well less busy. so leaves wide open real estate on there that seems more pronounced with the wrap vs the original finish.I'm not sure yet how much I like the Texas Flag as a wrap. (I like Texas tho. ;))

JMO.

I was planning to wrap just the front on mine, then paint the back and edges to obscure where the vinyl edge is. Anyone painted over vinyl with a good thick protective clear before? I've done a lot with vinyl on vehicles, but never tried painting over it.
