Write a bassline for this song

At first listen, it would be tempting to thump on the root like Ajak did, if you hear the drums going double time. I would be tempted to use some ocassional upper register licks to break it up a bit.

Working with a drummer on the rhythm would be a lot more productive and creative.

I put a half time drum feel on it (in my mind), and the bass line possibilities suddenly got a LOT more interesting.

You could even structure it so it goes back and forth from double time to half time.

I find it very diffiicult to write a line having no idea what the drummer is doing or the overall feel the entire band is trying to create.

Very cool idea of thread!, I've wanted to do this with my band's songs for a while, but never got around getting the songs sans bass line... :rollno:
I'm always curious as to what other players would come up with!

cool, on the first 30 seconds I myslef would love to lay down some sort of melody with the bassline...

and this would later be rejected by the rest of the band... :hiding:

Hey, i'm gonna post one. It's just going to take me a few days to do it. Thanks ;)

Actually, it would have really helped if you'd enabled the "download" link to this file. Is there an easy way to record this?
