WT800C and Cab Configuration

Alright so UPS just dropped off my new Eden WT800C. Psyche!! So here's my set up that I'll be running.

Single cab set up: SWR Goliath III 4x10 - Power Handling 700 Watts.

I'll be running the WT800 bridged at 880 Watts with this.

Two cab set up:

SWR Goliath III 4x10 - Power Handling 700 Watts
and

SWR SOB 1x15 - Power Handling 350 Watts

So here is the question. Should I run the WT800 bridged for this set up 1100 Watts at 4ohms or should I run both cabs separately into the two power modules for 440 Watts each and use the balance knob to even out the volume to both?

The latter is the way that I'm leaning. If my understanding is correct, when bridged both cabs will split the power and theoretically receive 550 Watts (that's if it were crank, which I'm not going to do), but would there be a volume difference between the two cabs, as the SOB would be driven harder that the Goliath?

Any input on which is the best way to run this set up?

I assume both your cabs are 8 ohms. I believe the 440 watts per side of the WT800c is at 4ohms per side, and the 550 is at 2ohms. At 8ohms you would be putting out much less power out of each side (I believe around 250 watts).

That head bridged into the 8ohm Goliath should sound awesome. However, there really isn't a great way to run two different 8ohm cabs with the WT800. In bridge mode, you would be pumping the same power into each cab. That might work OK if both cabs were close to the same SPL. In 'stereo mode' you would be running much lower power into 2 8ohm cabs, but you would be able to use the balance to adjust for the different cab responses if needed. I guess I'd just try it both ways and see which way sounds best. With the WT800c and two identical 8ohm cabs, it would be bridged mode all the way. Again, with two very different 8ohm cabs, it gets a bit more complicated.

Cool. I forgot that it's 440 at 4ohms. DOH!! That's ok. Yeah both at 8ohms. What I'll probably do in the future is look to snag another 4x10 or get a 6x10 Goliath SR.

Yeah I'm looking forward to testing this out at rehearsal this evening with the 4x10. Should sound killer. I played a gig at a local church this weekend and they had a WT550, and I used it the last couple of rehearsals there and it sounded killer. That actually what prompted me to go in the direction of the Eden over an SM900. I still dig the SWR cabs. I've played through a few Eden cabs and they sound great for sure, but there's just something about the SWR 4x10 that I really dig.

I'll play around with the two cab set up and I'll have to post back which way seems to work best. Bridged or Stereo.

I too would run dual-mono.
But on top of that you can try to re-wire the G3 to 2 ohm, so you will be getting 550w on that side.
