XBox 360 -- what game next?

Dead space. Anyone? Anyone? the creepiness makes it worth playing. Alone, at night with the surround sound cranked
I was meaning to play that, but right now my xbox is out of service. Stupid RRoD.
As far as story games go, thats a pretty decent list that will last you a while. I've heard good things about Dragon Age too, but I have yet to play it.
The most entertainment I have gotten out of my 360 is when I whipped out my old copies of Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2 and played them through
hey, mondern warfare two had the best single player story i think i've ever played. of course i haven't played a TON of video games, but i have played my fair share and that game actually made me experience emotion that i haven't had before with games.
Waiting patiently for november with the £25 on my game reward card that i got from buying the new slim line xbox for assassins creed revelations, thought id have to wait longer for the fourth one after completing the third, but obviously not, yay!
I have a PS3 so I had to start Mass Effect on the second one. It really was amazing. Since you have the xbox, you should pick up 1 & 2, then go to town!
I was thinking of picking up the 2nd one for PS3, did you miss a lot skipping the first?
Though its the first time i took so much time just staring down a cgi character before i chucked a knife right in his eye and through to his brain.

What other games have you played then? I thought the story was a let down and way too short. The single player campaign took me less than 6 hours to beat on veteran, which I thought was a ripoff for a $60 game
I'm like the OP, I prefer the single player experience over multiplayer and unfortunately the MW series doesn't bring it. Here's a few games that I think have far superior stories to MW2:

Final Fantasy 3 and 7
Half Life 2
Bioshock 1
GTA4
The Secret of Mana
The Legend of the Dragoon
Knights of the Old Republic

Having not played the first, I have no clue. I'm sure I missed some, but I felt adequately brought up to speed. That said, I'm glad I played it as compared to not playing it.

That game is sooo awesomely epic its ridiculous, and don't even get me started on FF7...
Have played all of FFVII (amazing), all of FFI (umm...the first one), and a good chunk of VIII. Typically I'm not too into RPGs though.

If you like those, get 3(6) NOW! I don't care how, but do it now. Pretty much wraps up the awesomeness of 7's sidequests, storyline, great characters, and music with the 2d style of the older games. Oh yeah, it also has 14 permanent main characters and 27 summons. Yeah, bada$$ game.
If you loved Gears, BulletStorm is a great choice. It was made by the same company too. There may be a free demo on the dashboard too if I'm not mistaken.
Oh, and Borderlands is $!@&%($ AMAZING. You can get a copy with all the expansion packs for like $20 now too. It is a total deal!

Final Fantasy 3(6) is my favorite in the series and perhaps my favorite game of all time. It also has my favorite music from ANY game I've ever played.

The writing and presentation in the first Portal is EASILY reason enough to pick up the "Half Life Orange Box" and playing through it before moving on to the second. The experience really is pretty eye opening with how much most FPS games are dropping the ball, it's that much more compelling. I mean, how often do you play a video game that actually makes you laugh? Half Life 2 is pretty awesome as well and basically you can just consider that to be a free game that comes with Portal. Best part, you can find it online for $10 now.
